Townhall’s Kurt Schlichter lays out how New York’s lawsuit against Donald Trump will go
Twitchy ^ | 21 Sep 2022 | Brett T

As Twitchy reported, Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin went on a Twitter bender earlier Wednesday when news broke that New York State Attorney General Letitia James was filing a lawsuit against Donald Trump for “engaging in years of financial fraud.” Of note: It’s not a criminal lawsuit, but a civil lawsuit. As long as James has been investigating Trump, she doesn’t have the goods on him to file a criminal lawsuit.

Lawyer and Townhall columnist Kurt Schlichter has laid out in a short thread just how the lawsuit is going to go. In short, Rubin might want to calm down.

I have only skimmed this dog's breakfast of a complaint, but what popped out at me for the parts I looked are were the lack of damages allegations, much less ones against NY, the plaintiff. You cannot sue if you did not suffer a loss. None are pleaded in the parts I looked at.

Not only is there no damage, but as I remarked on an earlier thread if Trump inflated the value of his real estate holdings, then he OVER PAID his property tax. Thus, he BENEFITED NYC and all the tax payers of NYC.

RE: The walls are closing in on Trump.

That quote from Adam Schiff 4 years ago should be framed for posterity alongside Baghdad Bob’s statements.

A pattern has been developing, and the active court cases against Trump will continue it: Trump ends up winning. Then he counter sues to get his legal fees back.

And notice these shots against him are getting weaker with each attempt.

To me, the most frightening revelations about the J6 prosecutions is how few federal judges are willing to stand up to the abuses.

Ooooooooch.

Trump claims the FBI stole the relevent tax documents during their (illegal) Mar-Lago search.
So Biden’s FBI says, “NO, we did not.”
Trump responds, “Prove you did not take the financial documents.”
Democrat AG (and FBI say), “Here are the (financial) documents! They prove you lied!”
Trump responds, “Prove those documents are not faked. You have faked documents against me before.”

Suspect that a biased rat NYC jury will convict President Trump in a heartbeat, evidence or no. It will have to be reversed on appeal.

the value of the property at the time the bank loaned the money was at least a million dollars.

That makes sense. Then there are subjective things. One selling point we made for building a church building with denominational help was that a large shopping center was going in down the road, a plant was expanding, and builders were preparing to build more homes to accomodate more residents.

It was all true, but then a series of economic hits happened about 2008 to change all the above. Those things never transpired.

Same with any property, I imagine. It increases or decreases in value based on subjective projections for the area, none of which are dishonest, but that doesn't mean they can't change.

As usual allegations can be made without any consequences to those bringing them.

She should be disbarred if this shows that there was no defrauding as no one has stepped forward to show they were actually damaged.

She’s counting on the uniformed who don’t know how loans work against properties where the lender does their own appraisal and decided to go forward on the valuation they come up with.

Its now just Trump saying I think its worth this much, so give me that much.

As usual the MSM doesn’t delve into that facet...

If you calculate in Bidinflation an outhouse will probably be worth a million bucks in a period couple of years.
