I must begin with an apology if I have made an error in how/where I've posted this vanity as it is my first in 18 years as a lurker/intermittent poster.
That being said, I fear that in roughly 10 hours from the time I "pen" this "letter" I shall bear witness to the last words I shall ever hear uttered from the lips of my father. I won't go into details about his condition, but I fear I may not have the strength to keep my composure when I visit him in the hospital (please no crass remarks about Covid/the jab/etc -- he is there for a multitude of reasons, several predating the whole Covid thing altogether), and I have prayed for the strength to bear this last visit.
I humbly request from you, fellow FReepers, a word or two in prayer as I make my way to what will be the last time I will see my father alive.
Thank you all, and God Bless you all.

Father have mercy.
My father passed before I made it to his side. He was overdosed on meds by a family member. He knew I was on the way and I know that gave him some comfort.
Prayers for you, your family and for your father.
I believe I received some while in IICU.
Don’t deserve but am beyond grateful for and will do my best to rate it.
I’m praying for you and your Dad. The Lord will give you the words to say to him and, if it is the last time you see him on this side of eternity, know that you will be united again in heaven and there will no longer be any pain or sorrow or tears for the former things are passed away. May the strength and grace of our Heavenly Father comfort you and your family.
Thank you…always need prayers…but making sure it got to OP in case that was the original intention. 👍
Pray for his peace, and you and your family.
Prayers for you and your father.
Praying for you and your family. May God give you strength.
EA, God will provide what y’all both need.
4 weeks ago I sat with my Uncle knowing it would be the last time we would see each other again in this life. It was wonderful to be with him and heart-wrenching. In most stages of my life he was there for me.
He went to meet the Lord yesterday afternoon.
May your Father’s memory be a blessing to you when the time comes. For now be with him.
God bless you both.
““Thank you, Ink. I have, although I am not positive about my father. God Bless you.”

You must bring the Uncompromising Gospel to your dad.
This is not a time for subtlety or postponement, or hoping for his approval. You may be the ONLY ONE who can reach him.
I now pray that your dad’s heart be open, and that you do not falter in your duty.
Study the Scriptures prior to seeing him; The Word of God always strengthens us!”
Amen! May God’s will be done in them both.
I’m late to this thread, but am joining with amens to these many prayers.
Please also check your freepmail; I have sent you a list of all the people who have responded here and will want to know how you are doing.
God bless you, and smooth the way for your dear dad. I still miss mine; and treasure the last words we spoke in the moments before he passed.
Praying for you and asking God to make your burden light and let you know that He is there by your side to welcome your father into Heaven when it’s his time. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen
May the Holy Spirit give you the right words to say and the right things to do. May the Lord welcome your father into His loving arms and console you and all his loved ones.
I told him I loved him and he said he loved me too....
by the time I got thru with the dentist, he was gone....
I'm 68 and I still feel like an orphan....
God bless....nobody gets to stay on here on earth but its very very hard to reckon.
our passion and our caring and our emotions is what really makes us human.
Prayers.
Worry not, for even Jesus wept. (And He knew the outcome.)
