Breitbart report “CNN is betting big on its new digital streaming service CNN+ that will debut in early 2022, calling it the most important launch since Ted Turner introduced the cable network more than four decades ago. But a string of shocking internal scandals is threatening to steal the spotlight on the eve of the big reveal.”
Per the report:
With ratings continuing to plummet to embarrassing levels, the Jeff Zucker-led network is facing what could be its biggest crisis in years. A looming merger of parent company WarnerMedia with Discovery only adds more uncertainty, with Discovery CEO David Zaslav set to run the combined media giant.
Two high-ranking CNN producers recently resigned following scandals that both involved pedophilia/b>. Rick Saleeby, who was a senior producer for CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” is under criminal investigation following a Project Veritas investigation alleging Saleeby solicited sexually explicit photos of an underage girl.
John Griffin, who worked as a senior producer on Chris Cuomo’s show, was arrested this month on child sex trafficking charges. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include allegations that he used Kik and Google Hangout to “persuade parents to allow him to train their daughters to be sexually submissive.”
Other scandals that plagued CNN this year include the firing and re-hiring of contributor Jeffrey Toobin, who was caught masturbating during a Zoom conference call. Actor Jussie Smollett’s recent criminal trial revealed that CNN anchor Don Lemon was aiding the Hollywood star by notifying him that the Chicago Police Department was doubting his alibi.
Earlier this month, Chris Cuomo was fired by CNN after previously being suspended.
CNN issued the following statement.
Former President Trump reacted to Chris Cuomo being suspended by CNN by writing “Great news for television viewers, they have just suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely!
The big question is, was it because of his horrendous ratings, which in all fairness have permeated CNN and MSDNC, or was it because his brother is no longer Governor? Probably both. In any event, Fredo is gone!”

Discovery is gonna clean house after the deal closes, just watch and see. Not political - they’ve got to pay for it and CNN is a big steaming otful of “synergies” writing to be had. Return to a true news format, hire newsreaders for a small fraction of what they’re paying this so-called “talent” and change the culture overnight. This integration is a no-brainer. And none of the above jeopardizes the billion $ plus in carriage fees they get before selling ad #1.
At first I misread the title as “Steaming Launch” instead of “Streaming Launch.” Oddly accurate.

CNN was great until Jane Fonda married Ted Turner.
As I think of it, CNN’s airport TV business probably died for a couple reasons: 1) Covid, which clearly the airports for passengers, and 2) Streaming to mobile phones which meant CNN no longer had a captive audience.
John Malone, the billionaire whose backing the new owner as much as said they will be bringing journalism back to CNN.
So there’s hope out there.
