To whom do liberals go when they want to tell their career-threatening stories to a sympathetic listener? Well, to be fair, they have several choices, but George Stephanopoulos is perhaps the favorite. So Alec Baldwin sought out Stephanopoulos to explain how he came to shoot and kill Halyna Hutchins. Today ABC News released a preview clip of that interview:
In his first interview since the deadly Oct. 21 shooting, a tearful Baldwin told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos he has “no idea” how the live bullet ended up in the firearm.
“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said in a preview clip of the interview released on Wednesday.
“I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never,” he said.
I believe that Baldwin was shocked to find out that there was a live bullet in the gun. This is why the first rule of firearm safety is to treat every gun as a loaded gun. He says that he would never point a gun at a person and pull the trigger. I should hope not! But the second rule of firearm safety is never to point a gun at another person you do not intend to shoot, period.

He’s too devious to be playing ignorant for real....
....what about the tears?
...not convincing either
The trigger is pulled back tightly as the action of “fanning” the hammer is pretty forceful. You would knock the pistol from your hand if you held the pistol lightly or failed to fully depress the trigger.
All balderdash as Baldwin cocked the hammer then pulled the trigger. It doesn’t happen any other way. Unless he dropped it on the ground then an accidental discharge would be an excuse, But he didn’t. He was horsing around being cocky and arrogant and shot two people.
A single action revolver mind you.
Of course he pulled the trigger.
And he also had to cock it first.
He was firing a Colt .45 replica, true to the era of the film.
I DIDN’T PULL THE TRIGGER yeah that’s the ticket huh the dog did it.
Magic Bullet Theory II.
Obviously, an evil SUV was reincarnated into a gun.
Because unless he sells that story, Shooter is now uninsurable. And if you don't carry both insurance on your leads, and an umbrella for the film as a whole, you're making TikTok videos.
If they ever want to work again, they’ll all have had their heads buried in the script or in the restroom or otherwise occupied and didn’t see a thing. This is a Baldwin, don’cha know.
Not only did it ‘fire itself’, it sent the bullet where it wasn’t aimed, according to this liar.
That particular gun can be fired without pulling the trigger. If you “fan” the hammer it will fire. The first question is was the gun was cocked since it’s single action. If it wasn’t cocked the hammer was fanned, if it was cocked either the hammer was fanned or the trigger was pulled. This will all come out during expert testimony in court.
Every single action I’ve seen, admittedly not many, you had to also be holding the trigger back while ‘fanning’ it. Otherwise, the hammer just locks back the first time.
and you weren’t screaming that at the top of yer lungs when it went off because?
"Magic bullet."
no doubt that firearm had one of those self-pulling triggers ... a very dangerous feature that most folks avoid ...
He reminds me of Craig T. Nelson’s character in The Devils Advocate.
It has been reported the Santa Fe sheriff's department sent the firearm to the FBI forensics lab for examination and evaluation.
Does he at least concede that he was holding the gun when it “just went off”?
Yup, or claim that a single-action revolver is an assault handgun!
Somehow this does not inspire the confidence it once might have, given Baldwin’s leftist credentials.
The check is in the mail.
I'm from the government and here to help you.
I'm Alec Baldwin and I DIDN’T PULL THE TRIGGER.
