It’s my understanding that there are no indigenous people to the United states. That they all came from somewhere else it’s just a matter of who got here first.

I guess I should have said I think it’s stupid to replace a day honoring Columbus for something called “Indigenous People’s Day”. I don’t have a problem with a day for indigenous people, just not in place of early American Founders and heroes like Christopher Columbus.

Columbus was a visionary and devout Christian. Do real research and you will discover America… just like he did.

I am indigenous. me and my family has been here about 400 years.

I find it fascinating that these indian tribes cannot tell us where their lands are. Those borders moved all the time as they did, yet, liberals want to claim they had nations that were took from them.

There we part company.
There is no justification for an indigenous people day. All purported indigenous traveled to America, just earlier. They all enslaved and most tortured people, some tortured very ingeniously.
American Indian & Eskimo history, lives, and practices are part of America’s heritage and should be taught at school. Our treaties with them should be respected.
