I guess I should have said I think it’s stupid to replace a day honoring Columbus for something called “Indigenous People’s Day”. I don’t have a problem with a day for indigenous people, just not in place of early American Founders and heroes like Christopher Columbus.

There we part company.
There is no justification for an indigenous people day. All purported indigenous traveled to America, just earlier. They all enslaved and most tortured people, some tortured very ingeniously.
American Indian & Eskimo history, lives, and practices are part of America’s heritage and should be taught at school. Our treaties with them should be respected.
