I am on the Board at a local dog club. We have many club members that are asking in classes or other occasions if other club members present are vaccinated. A few times I've been close by and said out loud "that is private medical information and you can't ask that" at which point the person usually sheepishly says they "were only kidding" (right!).
One of the venue organizations that puts on trials locally recently put this out on their site: "Clubs, Judges and or Exhibitors are not permitted to require, determine eligibility, or ask about exhibitors' vaccinations in such a way that it may be felt discriminitory or an invasion of their medical privacy to those who have or have not been vaccinated."
I'd love to propose our club having such a policy at our next board meeting BUT all but one or two on the board are liberal (mask nazi's also!) and will see nothing wrong with vaccination queries being asked by others.
I've already tried talking with one of them and they saw NOTHING wrong with people asking, didn't see that it was private information since "it's so contagious" and flat out said this wouldn't be an issue if everyone just got their vaccination.
So....I'm looking for some good suggestions and information that I can counter with. I need my ducks in a row before I present this!

Vaccination is needlessly redundant you’ve had Covid. I’m annoyed at the near religious devotion to human solutions - a very Progressive stance.
Well...hhmmm...that makes me wonder if blood donating will require the vax????

I have donated blood twice this year and am eligible again in a few weeks. Both times they asked me if I had been vaccinated. Wanting to keep my blood clean for a potential recipient gives me another reason to steer clear of the experimental vaccine.
"To support racial equity and Black Lives Matter, I am not getting a shot until every black person in the country has gotten theirs. I don't want to be like some people who use their white privilege to get to the front of the line. How about you?"

HIPAA does not apply in this situation.
Give them copies of the HIPPA law and ask if the clubs liability policy would cover lawsuits for violations of the law. Then innocently blink your eyes and wait.

Well... as soon as it is FDA approved, I will be considering it...
They don’t outright ask, they say “After all, everyone here has been vaccinated, right?”, then make eye contact with each person to see who flinches.
Me: “No, I’m waiting for the live animal tests to finish”
Them: “They’re doing animal tests?”
Me: “YOU got the shot, right?”
“No.”
I guess you could ask them personal medical information like if they are HIV positive, or had some medical procedure?
If you are a woman and they are, you could ask when they had their last PAP smear or mammogram. I wouldn’t go there is they are female and you are a man.
Maybe they don’t know that.
Nevertheless, it would be fun to rattle their cages some.
