The 7.62 ammo loaded into 20 round magazines is the real weight issue. The rifle does not need to be more that a pound or two heavier. Mine is about 8.5# empty with iron sights.

I think the reference was to tightening the upper to lower fit.

Read many times that does little other than feel better not to have the wiggle.

Watch Out, Organic Panic! You are attempting to out-smart the Smart Ones.

You’re only allowed to out-shoot them... Not to out-smart them!

Nice and easy now, buster...

Step AWAY from a properly functioning rifle,

embrace what your benevolent congress supplied to you at the lowest bid,

use it to stay alive,

and proudly shop for “upgrades...”

Whilst celebrating freedom.

The most important modification you can make to any firearm you intend using for home or personal protection is ...

... to wear it out.

Shoot it a lot, then shoot it some more. Don't waste your money on "upgrades" if the money you spend on them will have to be subtracted from what you have available for practice ammunition.

Because the most important investment you can make in any firearm you might have to trust your life to ... is trigger time.

Ditto on the spares, but once you shoot an extremely accurate rifle nothing less satisfies. Besides, it is cheap and easy to do.
