Not interested, but even if I was, I wouldn't. Gene and Paul are now on my Ayn Rand Time Out list.

Years ago, I put RATM on my Rand list...they may rock, but those sombiches would put me in a re-education (or worse) camp asap if given the chance. Why would I put money in their pockets? I added Sean Penn and a bunch of other artists to that list over the years.

Kiss doesn't do anything for me musically. I hated them in elementary school and aside from Cold Gin and a few other tunes, they aren't that good IMHO.

BUT... I am a big fan of Gene's marketing prowess. He is also a massive supporter of Israel (he was born there and lived there). So I cut them some slack.

But he and Paul are two of the biggest pro-lockdown and Mask Karens out there. So, why would I put money into their pockets? I'd rather go to a bar (if one was open) and pay to see unsigned bands who willingly risk catching the virus to earn a living.

This highlights how different the UAE is from the other Middle-Eastern Muhammadan countries. In places like Saudi & Kuwait, live musical performances are all but banned, and about the only music you’ll hear in public is the call to prayer blaring from the minarettes. There’s not even any “muzak” in hotel lobbies or the dentist’s waiting room.

But in Dubai, not only do they bring in one of the flashiest R&R bands in existence, it also happens to be a band fronted by two Jews.

“Hard Luck Woman” was such a big hit for them, as was “Beth”. Both songs were sung by Peter Criss. “Hard Luck Woman” is Garth Brooks’ favorite song - he also did a rendition in one of his albums.
