Silliest thing today and that wasn’t easy.

But I bet it will get a lot of innocent folks in trouble

The world has gone mad

What if the woman “gropes” herself and accuses somebody else?

Yet, if the woman dresses respectfully, they are treated as such.

As a(n older) woman, I can’t believe how stupid they are!

A couple of years ago there were studies showing that when women asking a man for directions touched his arm, he was much more likely to help her. Oddly this was not considered groping nor harassment, but rather a valuable way for a woman to get a man to respond to her.

I do not recall ever hearing about a Mennonite or Amish Woman being groped.

Why do you suppose that is?

Could it be because they dress very modestly?

The way some women dress looks like they are sending out an invitation .....

Subtle message - touching a woman AT ALL FOR ANY REASON is harassment. No, it’s NOT! It’s a ridiculous premise.

Setting the bar so low for what’s not truly harassment only trivializes what true harassment is.

“this project shows the women being touched without consent once or more times every five minutes.”

Serious?

I bet the dress identified more unwanted touching than the women themselves. Because only the woman new when it was unwanted. The dress speaks for itself not the women wearin
g it.

There sure is not much groping out here in Omaha, NE. The gropable women are all married, so that makes groping technically adultery and most of us men are at least somewhat Christian and in my case Catholic which means ANOTHER TRIP to the Confessional.

I can hear the priest now: “Oh FCOL Sap, whad’ja do this time?”

If I grope I grab and squeeze my beautiful borzoi. She gets all my affection these days until a cute foxy widow pirates me away.

Groping? Come on ladies just slap the man next time he does this. Just because Biden is a groper does not mean it is ok.

Some people are touchy-feely; they simply like the contact with people and believe it's mutual.

Some people hate to be touched to the extreme. A woman once accused me of breathing on her while I was standing in line behind her. Krazy Karen Syndrome is real.

A very small number of men touch women for sexual thrills.

If a woman has a boss who is touching her for his own thrills and she has a record of reporting his unwanted touching maybe this could be useful.

But as someone said, she can touch herself or ask a co-conspirator to touch her to build a false case of inappropriate touching.

Thus, this dress can be used for good or for evil depending on the psyche and motivations of the woman.

All the data shows is the dress indicated the woman was touched. It does not show by whom or for what reason.

In a crowded night club, it could simply be accident.

It could be the woman touching herself.

It does not mean what the author is saying it does.

There are sensors in the dresses that are connected to computers via a wifi connection.

Calling B.S.

I watched the video. It showed someone sewing a dress and then placing a grid of what looked like contact “buttons” on the dress, which I presume were supposed to be the touch detectors. There was nothing connecting these buttons, which looked like physical buttons.

To connect it with WiFi you’d need a set of contacts, wires between the contacts, a small CPU to take in the signals, a battery large enough to drive the system, and a WiFi antenna. I saw none of that.

As if it couldn’t be faked by self-groping. Jeez.

‘Arms’ is ‘groping’? Lower back/waist is debateable and contextual - but arms?

When I am on the subway, during certain parts of the loading/shifting process, my backside gets bumped, but I’ve never noticed it in the form that I’d call it ‘groping’. It even occasionally happens when going through crowded doorways - though I’ll note that it only even registers if I’m thinking about it.

Maybe part of the issue with the men ‘disbelieving’, is the women there speaking a different language.

Good Heavens, not that!

A man touched my arm and I was chagrined.   What is the world coming to?

The video shows what most people would know to be true. A very attractive woman going to a crowded dance club in Brazil is likely to get touched on the dance floor. Some of the men in the video look like boors, but that's kind of what everyone expects to find in that environment.

That is probably why both the men and the women go there.

Does anybody remember the disco craze of the 70s? Why did many men and women go to discos?

Tell ya what DIW.... Some really ignorant comments scattered around. I don’t know those guys think they’re cute and manly or just trolling.

Any way... A couple or three years ago, my son and his wife were doing the New Years night thing in a trendy area of Atlanta. They were walking down the sidewalk, passed three guys going the other way and one of them did the grope thing. A few seconds later the guy was laying on the sidewalk curled up and the two buddies were about to wet their pants believing they were next. They would have been next if they’d run their mouth off.
