After telling Variety that shes contemplating leaving the United States if President Donald Trump wins re-election, rocker Stevie Nicks says there wouldnt have been a Fleetwood Mac if she had not had an abortion.
If I had not had that abortion, Im pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac, said Nick in a recent interview with The Guardian. The singer ended her unborn childs life in 1979 while she was dating Don Henley of The Eagles. Theres just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs I would have had to walk away.
Besides, Nicks felt that the music we were going to bring to the world was much more important than the life of her own flesh and blood.
And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many peoples hearts and make people so happy, she said. And I thought: you know what? Thats really important. Theres not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my worlds mission.
The rocker jumped into the presidential election last week, telling Variety in an interview to promote her new single Show Them the Way that shes thinking: Oh, space if Trump wins. Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people. Nicks is not the only celebrity elite to suggest that she wouldnt have been able to figure out how to be successful in her career if she had started a family.

Which child was the one he used to smuggle drugs?
I always liked Christine McVie better, anyway.
Besides, Nicks felt that the music we were going to bring to the world was much more important than the life of her own flesh and blood.
But by then Fleetwood Mac had already inflicted "Don't Stop" on the world, which would later be used by President Pantless in his campaign.
Theres not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my worlds mission.
I can think of Heart right off the top of my head, but maybe all of those drugs have Bidened her memory.
shes thinking: Oh, space if Trump wins. Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people.
Once again I must quote Oliver Cromwell:
Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!
That’s great, nick. Who cares?
She wasn't raped. She spread her legs apart by free will.
I seem to remember she said (in her autobiography, I think) that she had four abortions. Her legacy is her four rejections of life, and now it's too late for her, she made a deal with Satan.
Well writen...
+1
Thought provoking!
I am a huge fan, but I could have done without the music for the life of her child. What a selfish, pompous, self-aggrandizing statement.
Washington state legalized abortion in 1970. Actually the majority of the states have legalized abortion and the flailing over Roe vs. Wade is ridiculous. Proving how silly and undereducated most women are.
I am a woman myself, BTW.
Adoption is an option.
But she chose death.
And if Bob Welch stayed with Fleetwood Mac in 1974 she and Lindsey Buckingham would have not have been brought in to replace him.
I saw what you did there. Intentional or not. *chuckle*
Same here. :(
“Women, they will come and they will go...”
“Albatross
#83. Great quote from Cromwell. My more recent one in similar vein came from the late Ambassador or Deputy Ambassador to the UN Charles Lichtenstein (Charlie to his friends).
When countries in the UN who didn’t like US policies threatened to leave the UN, Charlie said that in his official capacity, that “he would come down to the dock to wave them off”.
In other words, “up yours Gomer” and have fun living in your third world shitholes at home.
You Stupid woman...
Here is a poem I wrote about that.
“To Win the End”
The end is to win or not, you see.
And winning is not a collection of wealth and memory.
Look far ahead when you are young if you can.
Good planning and hard work will win the end.
Lifes goal will take its toll, on the foolish and selfish one.
Trophies and cash are nothing if your goal hasnt begun.
You can travel the world and play the field.
And no matter your path, the end wont yield.
Without a good partner, you will wonder your fate.
From the time you are young until its too late.
So be wise and start now to win the end.
Its a war to find a good mate, so you better begin.
Then be a good parent and make your mark on the earth.
And advise the young to produce many a birth.
Love and teach them to obey and trust.
As all generations of ancestors did for us.
When one gets old and the end is to be.
The trophies and travel mean little.
Good children, and grandchildren, are your greatest legacy.
Johnny Mathis?
Oh shït Stevie! Why didn’t you say so before?
I’m convinced! Kill babies for fun and profit!
By her logic, shouldn’t there be a couple million bands out there?
