Look at this stunning exhibition from the website of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. This is from its web page about the menace of “Whiteness”. Aside from the anti-white stereotypes here, notice the inadvertently anti-black insanity: things like hard work, being on time, cause and effect, “rational thinking,” respect for authority, politeness — all these things, according to the museum, are manifestations of “whiteness.” Did David Duke write this stuff? It’s crazy! If a white man said that black people are lazy, can’t keep to a schedule, have no respect for authority, can’t think straight, are rude, etc. — he would be rightly criticized as racist. But there it is, at the taxpayer-funded National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Huh, according to this poster, Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Indians, and Israelis are all “white” Americans.
These appear largely to be strategies for dealing with the challenges the industrialized international marketplace has presented our society since the 1950’s. The nuclear family as a stand-alone unit, for example, came into being when multiple generations could not be easily uprooted when a young man got a job in Detroit, but dad/mom/kids could move fairly easily. The postwar reliance on two parents vs generations of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins has destabilized society and given us the 60’s and chaos ever since. Depression era white families and earlier were largely multigenerational. I would strongly challenge the scapegoating of people based on skin color for practices that seemed like a good idea at the time but didn’t work out. Hindsight is 20/20.

And our news media is good at finding the latest “New Thing!” to talk about, and if they can’t fine a “New Thing”, they will make something up.

I am reading the Ron Chernow bio of Washington (Washington: A Life) and the descriptions of slavery on Mt Vernon explain where the Black opposition the above qualities came from.
If you are a slave, your only way of rebelling is passive-aggressive behavior. You goof off whenever possible, you slow time down as much as possible, you are insolent but in very hard to detect ways, you don't perform well period.
If you work hard, if you are polite, organized or methodical...you are acting White.
Apparently this kind of thinking still abounds.
Wow. I love that the “Protestant Work Ethic” is “white culture”. Tell that to the millions of Protestant churchgoing blacks in the South! Maybe that is changing.
As a white person, I disagree that “bland is best.” I love spicy food and “ethnic food”—the spicier and stranger the better.
I think women’s beauty is whatever men think it is. They aren’t as picky as only preferring “Barbies.”

This is unworthy of the Smithsonian and it does display a startlingly superficial and sophomoric approach to... in truth I wouldn’t dignify it with any discipline besides a tip of the hat to the graphic designer.
There is no sense in continuing this facade of educating them, subsidizing their lives, allowing them to hold public office, crowd the prison system, etc, etc.
Let them enjoy their tribalism, without ‘white folks’ interference. Go back and be KINGS in your own continent. Fools.

The United States and European cultures were built mainly by Whites. Blacks and other groups have contributed lots of labor but only marginally in essential areas. It’s not surprising that whites would build a culture based on the norms, values and behaviors they admire and which lead to success. Were the people in China expected to build a culture designed to make whites/Blacks/Indians feel comfortable? If white people go to live in China they have to adapt or they will feel like outsiders and not be successful. The nonsense taught in these classes are a recipe for chaos and cultural collapse. There are no norms, no universally accepted values or standards.
I don’t know think the poster is intended to imply that all of these aspects of “white culture” are wrong or bad; I think they’re just categorizing (stereotyping) what white people (and a lot of non-white people) think about these topics.
An interesting test would be to have the author(s) of the poster create one for “black culture” in the USA. Some of the entries would be the same, and not just because of “internalized racism” (i.e., blacks having adopted white culture as their own).
The main issue here is what do those pointing out white culture want to do about it? Eradicate white culture? Ok, and replace it with what? No one can establish cultural norms by edict, barring a dictatorship, and even then people may comply, but they don’t actually accept the enforced norms. Cultural norms don’t really work this way; they arise over time as an amalgamation of what the individuals in the culture value and pass on to their children. Those cultural norms are essential ideals.
But let’s say their goal is not to eradicate, but to modify white culture. Ok, start making some suggestions. I think you’re going to find that it’s not going to work if it requires a person to give up something they truly value (e.g., their religion, work ethic, rule of law, etc.).
I believe the goal of the radical leftist is simply to destroy and undermine the American culture. They don’t necessarily care what replaces it, as long as American culture is gone. To suggest a replacement is to open oneself up to criticism, and then the left would have to defend their cultural tenets. They won’t do that.
How much money does the Smithsonian get from the government?
The people that designed this poster have never spent anytime around White people at all. They just looked at some Norman Rockwell prints and went from there. Not that there is anything wrong with Norman Rockwell but most of us non POC persons hardly live like that. Especially in this century.

I think they want there to be no consequences for minority people not being willing or able to meet the standards whites have met for hundreds of years.
-Habitually show up at work an hour late- no problem.
-Cant be bothered to work overtime and weekends to meet a deadline- Oh well.
- Aren’t conscientious enough to make sure there are no errors in your report, etc.- So what.
- Miss an important meeting because you got a flat and don’t know how to change a tire. -No big deal.
