Earlier Saturday we reported on “the dumbest tweet in history,” credited to a Bernie Sanders adviser. Yes, to commemorate D-Day, Matt Duss took that famous photo of allied forces off the coast of France and called it the “largest ANTIFA operation in history.”
He’s not the first to compare World War II veterans to Antifa — CNN’s Chris Cuomo famously did as well — but as plenty pointed out, Antifa defaced the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. this week.
Now NPR political Mara Liasson is making the same dumb comparison:

I must of missed the part where the Allied troops burned their own flag, destroyed their own towns, beat and killed innocent citizens, defaced their own monuments, trying to erase history and civilization, etc.

She’s gonna hate it when she finds out that those old school anti-fascists were almost ebtirely straight white Christian men who had rather problematic viewpoints on transgendered individuals, gays, and blacks. I don’t think the boys of point du hoc ever once checked their white privilege.
I suspect that if any participant in that big ANTIFA rally were to encounter todays ANTIFA pukes they would readlily see the similarity between the fascists they fought and the fascist scum of today who claim to fight fascists.
