No, Black Lives Do Not “Matter More Than Yours”
Romans One ^ | June 5, 2020 | Denise McAllister

It’s always discouraging to see Christians duped by forces of darkness that parade as angels of light, but this is exactly what’s happening among those who are embracing the message of Black Lives Matter and using Scripture to justify the movement’s ideology. One example came to my attention today on Twitter when Nancy French—wife of National Review columnist David French—tweeted the following message from singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens...While I’m sure Stevens had good intentions posting this message on his Instagram, as did Nancy French for reposting it, they both couldn’t be more wrong in applying this verse to the political movement Black Lives Matter. We, as Christians, must be very careful how we use Scripture in relation to worldly ideologies and political agendas. Jesus taught, for example, “to lay down your life for your brother,” but we would be foolish to apply this directive to a political movement that demands you give up your life earnings or even your very life in the name of social equality and justice as defined by those who reject political liberty.

Proverbs 3:7 tells us, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” Wisdom is essential in times such as these. While we might think it wise to express the humble message of Philippians 2 in relation to Black Lives Matter, we are also told in Philippians 3 to “look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers” and in Ephesians 5 to “take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” Wisdom for a Christian is not always to find the nice response to every situation, but to find the right response to every situation. In doing what is wise and right, we are doing what is loving.

It all reminds me of Islam Jihadists and "Allahu Akbar!"

The Arabic phrase means "God is great!" which, by itself, could be said by Christians and Jews. But, as I understand it, the implication in Arabic is really, "My god is greater than your God!" which turns the phrase into one of aggression and hate.

"Black Lives Matter"? Hey, by itself, what could be wrong with such a phrase? But it turns out the implication is very much "Black Lives Matter More Than Yours" which turns the phrase into one of aggression and hate.

No disrespect, but it sounds like two five year olds arguing.

Does anyone remember the name KELLY Hunnewell? I do and will not forget her torture, unfortunately her viscous murder only made the local news in Columbia, SC. I guess that was because Trayvon Martin hit the big time mega million murder lottery at about the same time.

Kelli was a mother of four young children (Another privileged white woman) who worked alone in the early morning hours in a bakery. Three wonderful black teenagers followed her into the back door of the bakery, then began chasing her around (on video) terrifying her. She fought like hell until one of the budding scholars shot her in the throat and she died.

KELLI only got one funeral and I doubt anyone marched for her.

Exactly why one must put on the Armor of God. If you do not avail yourself of God’s spiritual protection you are at risk of being subverted by the evil one and his servants when you are called onto the battlefield of spiritual warfare. Do not compromise with evil for the purpose of saving yourself. You can not save yourself. But do not fear. If you put your trust in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, then you will be saved.
