Judging from the line outside this Long Island gun store, the ‘you don’t need a firearm to protect yourself just call the police’ narrative is in trouble

In the last several days we’ve seen many people on social media say that they’ve called the police and have been told the response either wouldn’t happen or would take a long time. It seems now more than ever that Americans increasingly aren’t relying on the police to protect them and are taking things into their own hands. Here’s just one example:

The training and practice that I got in my days in the Corps have stayed with me and I continue to practice and train to this day

Training helps.

It is those without any training I worry about

Her story is more reality then television.

Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is real. I just urge people to not take that step unless given no choice.

I completely understand what you mean. Hell, I worry, too. But. If the fecal matter hits to rotary device, what choice do we have? I sure as Hell will neither surrender nor submit. I don’t know anybody who would, either. I will do what it takes to protect my family, my home and my neighbors as well as I am able.

Welcome home and God Bless, brother.

I am not saying not to defend yourself or your family. Just realize that it will change your life.

One silver lining of the fascist state governments and the letting violent criminals out of prison and then the riots on top of that......gun grabbing just took it right in the shorts. There are and will be many millions of new gun owners. Millions more will viscerally understand that they cannot outsource their personal security....and no, a baseball bat is not going to cut it against a mob of rioters. You need guns and ammo for that. At the end of the day, the criminals and rioters and general assorted scum DO understand its time to get the hell away when your gun is pointed at them.

That’s what I need for a premises permit for a handgun in Nassau County. Long gun, as long as it it not among those proscribed is same day service.

New Jersey is the worst place in America for so many things, gun ownership is just one more example.

Inverse relationship. In places that respect self defense, you can buy a firearm. At the same time, understanding lethal weapons leads to respect for life and for others’ rights; so those persons are likely to maintain their freedom and responsibility together.

(Not that you don’t know that; just leveraging the comment).

https://www.80-lower.com/ Better kits at a better price can be had here, in my humble opinion. Nitrided barrels, free-float lightweight guards with torque plates and centering bars for the top rail to line up w/ the receiver, good parts kit and triggers, very affordable. There’s also a pretty good selection of pistol kits (1911, glock, sig, etc)
