Matt Taibbi is alarmed at the Democrats’ trampling on liberty, but he doesn’t quite get it

...I find Taibbi’s dilemma fascinating, and I think I understand it. A mind is a difficult thing to change. When you’ve supported a party your entire life and you’re an idealist who believes it stands for certain things that matter to you, and you see that was only a pretense and in fact a lie and the party stands for the opposite and yet you see friends and colleagues turning them selves into pretzels to defend it, it’s shocking on many levels. To assimilate that knowledge – and not turn away and rationalize, as so many do – is hard enough. Taibbi has accomplished that. But then there’s the effort to understand its deeper meaning, and what it means about your own beliefs and the errors you yourself have made in perceiving what was going on.

I know about that. I’ve been there. It took me only a year or two, but then again I never was previously so deeply into politics. And yet, it was difficult and tremendously disillusioning as well as an exercise in humility, and the social consequences have been hard as well...

Taibbi began as a freelance reporter in the former Soviet Union, including a period in Uzbekistan, from where he was deported for criticizing President Islam Karimov.

Appears not to be a NPC. Hope yet remains. But agree - he would have the steep part in front of him.

Taibbi is a douchenozzle. Thinks he’s an intellectual of some sort. Imus used to have him on as a guest. Too smart by half type.

A lot of people are idiots.

But some are less idiotic than others and are beginning to wonder whether or not they have been idiots and want to stop being idiots.

This guy, Tabbouli, I hope he chokes on his laughable red-pilling.

Start with his cover-up of the UVA fraud hoax, which cost RS a shitton (they lost the case) and should have cost several reporters there a year in jail. And now RS has supposedly 'released' Tabblabla. HAHAHAHA
