Politico edited on Saturday morning a story claiming Donald Trump owes millions to the Bank of China for a loan on a New York City office building, hours after Breitbart News exposed the story as false. The story now begins with a note that it has been “updated to include comment from the Bank of China and additional reporting.” Despite the initial story being substantively incorrect and getting several details wrong, Politico did not issue a formal correction, as standard journalistic good practice would indicate they should. What’s more, the story continues to be wrong in several places.

As astonishingly false as these anti-Trump stories often are, I know several liberals who eat them up; believing every word. I suppose that is why these not-credible stories keep getting written. There is an audience ready and waiting for them.

Well said. Liberals are emotion driven creatures and quick to believe anything that supports their ideological prejudices.
In any discussions with your liberal acquintenances note how they always gravitate to emotional arguments.
We all tend to focus on BS from WaPo and the NYT but Politico is every bit as bad.
Yes, my brother-in-law is one of them. Seems he gets his news from Yahoo and posts a couple of anti-trump links a day in a family group text to all of us. The texts mostly get ignored as many are never responded to.
All of them are your standard hair-on-fire lies the MSM is pushing.
A few lawsuits would cure that real quick...One could argue that these sites do have malice towards Trump...The bias is always there.....It’s built into the story....

With the threats to advertising revenue, the new business model is clickbait and innuendo in order to provide the designated audience with what it wants to hear.

Breitbart is often biased and uncritical, but they don’t just plain make sh*t up. That puts them in top tier ahead of the biggies such as the NYT and Wapo, let alone Politico.
But dare to call them out as fake news!
We must owe trillions to China, since they buy up the debt from all the money that gets printed. Politico must be deflecting.
