As astonishingly false as these anti-Trump stories often are, I know several liberals who eat them up; believing every word. I suppose that is why these not-credible stories keep getting written. There is an audience ready and waiting for them.

To issue a formal correction, clearly stated in a very obvious place, when one has made an error, is not merely standard journalistic good practice. It is fundamental to a commitment to truth, respect for truth, and basic honesty and integrity.
Truthfully informing the public is the only true purpose of journalism.
Scorn of truth--truth for its own sake--is the evil most fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilisation.

Breitbart is often biased and uncritical, but they don’t just plain make sh*t up. That puts them in top tier ahead of the biggies such as the NYT and Wapo, let alone Politico.
