The last witch execution that can be documented in the Holy Roman Empires illustrious history took place on this date in 1756, in Landshut, during the age of Maria Theresa.* Its subject was a 15-year-old named Veronika Zeritschin, who was beheaded and then burned.

I shouldn’t seem to blame Protestants for all the witch trials that actually did take place, either. The Bamberg witch trials were led by a bishop who was disobedient and criminal, but still called himself a Catholic; indeed many heretics and those caught in the sway of heretical movements regard themselves Catholics (e.g., Nancy Pelosi, Francis*, etc.)

Witches are sexy
Many of the accused were defacto executed, dying as the result of trial by ordeal, from the effects of torture (infection and the like), the cold, damp, near starvation conditions of prison, or were killed by family of those they accused to escape torture.
Democrats?
So, you think that some of them were real witches?

Depends on how the word “witch” is defined. Some people consider it to be a synonym of the word “bitch”!
She turned me into a newt!

LMAO! Very funny.
I had at least one multi-great-aunt die due to the Salem fiasco, but the number of such deaths due to witless superstition has been greatly exaggerated.
1829 "Histoire de l'Inquisition en France" by Etienne Leon de Lamothe-Langon was published. It was a forgery claiming massive witchcraft executions in the 14th century. The evidence was, essentially, fiction.
1833 In the United States, a Tennessee man was prosecuted for witchcraft.
1862 French writer Jules Michelet advocated a return to goddess worship and saw women's "natural" inclination to witchcraft as positive. He depicted witch hunts as Catholic persecutions.
1893 Matilda Joslyn Gage published "Women, Church and State" which reported that nine million witches had been executed.
1921 Margaret Murray's "The Witch Cult in Western Europe" was published. In this book about the witch trials, she argued that witches represented a pre-Christian "old religion." She contended that the Plantagenet kings were protectors of the witches, and Joan of Arc was a pagan priestess.
1954 Gerald Gardner published "Witchcraft Today" about witchcraft as a surviving pre-Christian pagan religion.A Timeline of Witch Hunts in Europe by Jone Johnson Lewis
Speaker of the House is another word we use for them nowadays...
Oh, Candor7 beat me to the punch on Post 7.
” I’m sure most were innocent and were accused because someone did not like them”
Most of them? You think some might have been witches after all?
Did you read my response to the other person who asked this question?
Looks like nobody here is aware that witchcraft and abortion overlapped heavily in the pre-modern world.
Now I do. But I don’t think any of them were actually witches. That’s retarded...
Thank you. And abortion was thought of as evil.
Wonder what did she did to piss off the yankee Puritans.
“So you arent POSITIVE they were innocent?”
Hillary. Pelosi. Warren. The Prosecution rests.
Might pick up Kingdom of the Cults and Kingdom of the Occult by Walter Martin.
God exists.
Elect Angels exist.
Fallen angels exist.
Evil Spirits exist.
Demons exist.
God created Humanity.
We were instructed not to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, lest we surely die (a state of existence involving separation).
Every human now has the knowledge of good and evil.
Good & Evil is confused with sin (disobedience of God’s Plan). When we perform human good separate from God, we sin. Many good works are sinful. Many evil works are sinful.
Re: witchcraft, we are to condemn sorcery and witchcraft, i.e appealing to the spiritual domain of fallen angels and evil spirits to perform our bidding.
If one believes Masons exist, then be aware sorcery and witchcraft also exists. Both will attempt to remain occultic.
To those who neither know God nor the occult, they simply blend in as worldly do-gooders. Similar to witches. (If not the same,)
IMHO, we have our hands full simply remaining in fellowship with God, through faith in Christ, overcoming how our souls are so scarred from worldly and fleshly temptations, without having to also have direct conflict with the angelic domain.
Those who seek the power of fallen angels, evil spirits, and anything spiritual outside of faith in Christ or God’s Plan, simply bring more cursings upon the rest of humanity. They are to be removed from society, if not simply sentenced to capital punishment and executed.
Be careful of those who ignore the spiritual domain outside of Christ or the Holy Spirit. Those who seek to cause you harm will hide in their midst, and will obfuscate the spiritual domain in an attempt to gain more power for themselves.
W e could set up a pyre in Stockton. And make the Bern live up to his name: Bring the slow “Bern!” Sounds like bacon!
What about Angela Merkel?
