Talking about Bernie....that heart attack of his...and him getting cagey about releasing his full medical report all of a sudden.
Les just say he gets the nomination and then croaks just before the election. Then what?

Declare a National Holiday?

The Democrats will put Hillary Clinton in his place.

Soon after I turned 70 it just happened. The wisdom started bubbling out..... I couldn’t help it.

I think it must be genetic or something

Because wisdom offends a lot of folks (they don't have it) so we tended to avoid displaying it around the youngsters: just to keep peace in the family.

Now, we sages know that peace is not NEAR as valuable as wisdom; so we pontificate more and more; caring less and less whose undergarments become clustered tightly in their nether regions.

\Most people in their 70’s, 80’s, and beyond have intelligence, knowledge, common sense, and wisdom to share. :-)

The ‘problem’ is that when one ‘needs’ the stored data it does not rise to the surface quick enough.

The ‘new’ in thing for bar room ‘discussions’ is who can use the correct language to draw ‘googles’ answer up first ALTHOUGH, it is nice when someone who draws it up first HAS to reaffirm that ‘YOU/I’ are correct AGAIN...<: <: <:

Saw a good one the other day...

“The most boring discussion is the one in which everyone agrees with each other” (or something like that)

I am very sorry to hear that about your mom.

I do hope your eyesight stays steady and will say a few prayers.

And yes, even with my beating myself to heck, I’ve was blessed with very good genes.

That I don’t have diabetes or edema or something is a miracle.

In my mid-50's and feeling much wiser already.

I can't begin to imagine all the wisdom I'll have 20 years from now...

lol

The ‘problem’ is that when one ‘needs’ the stored data it does not rise to the surface quick enough.

That's because, as we get older, our brains keep collecting information, and there's so much of it that the brain needs more time to access it.

At least that's what I keep telling myself. lol

Seriously, though, my beloved father at 72 had a sharp mind. He never had any trouble thinking of the right words to say or trying to remember facts. Even on his deathbed, his mind was still intact, up to the last moment. Still miss him terribly.

But, someone closer to 80? That's too late to be president.

Remember the Al Bundy (the show with the Chicago fountain dipping after he installed a Ferguson toilet) show when Kelly was the ‘winner’ of a drawing to answer sports trivia?
The prize would have been a million and Kelly was picked figuring she would falter very early..
Anyway, Al had heard that the brain would take NEW info and push out the old so he was filling her head with all ‘new’ trivia and she was spouting off ALL the answers until the final question for the mill....

‘Who scored 4 TDS in one game for Polk High’?
(that was Als ‘claim to fame’ the only ‘good’ thing he had done in his life and it came up about once a show).

Apparently all the NEW info pushed out probably the ONLY answer she may have gotten right had they not ‘messed with her’.

Ha. I used to watch that show. I remember Al talking about his high school football days all the time.

Yep, that episode perfectly illustrates the “data dump” we all have to do now and then.

I'm hesitant to post this article in the forum right now because the trickle of new threads will push it onto page 2 by tomorrow morning, and then some peeps kinda lose it if it posted again tomorrow.. SO for now, here's a DOJ post re Super Tuesday (tomorrow). I' may post it in the forum before I go to sleep hoping it will still be on the first page when FReepers check in tomorrow.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, March 2, 2020
Joint Statement from DOJ, DOS, DOD, DHS, ODNI, FBI, NSA, and CISA on Preparations for Super Tuesday

U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray, U.S. Cyber Command Commander and National Security Agency Director Gen. Paul Nakasone, and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Christopher Krebs today released the following joint statement:

“Tomorrow, millions of voters in more than a dozen states and territories will cast their votes in presidential primaries. ‘Super Tuesday’ will see more Americans head to the polls than any other day of the primary season. We continue to work with all 50 states, U.S. territories, local officials, political parties and private sector partners to keep elections free from foreign interference.

“Americans must also remain aware that foreign actors continue to try to influence public sentiment and shape voter perceptions. They spread false information and propaganda about political processes and candidates on social media in hopes to cause confusion and create doubt in our system. We remain alert and ready to respond to any efforts to disrupt the 2020 elections. We continue to make it clear to foreign actors that any effort to undermine our democratic processes will be met with sharp consequences.

“The level of coordination and communication between the federal government and state, local and private sector partners is stronger than it’s ever been. Our Departments and Agencies are working together in an unprecedented level of commitment and effort to protect our elections and to counter malign foreign influence, but voters have a role to play too.

“We encourage all voters going to the polls to check your voter registration and know ahead of time when to vote, where to vote, what’s on your ballot, and whether your state requires identification. Your state or local election official’s office is the most trusted source for election material. A well-informed and vigilant republic is the best defense against disinformation.”
