UPDATE-Praise God!Gracie is literally teetering between better and worst. That is to say she could turn the corner for either way but right now Gracie and her baby boy are alive and that is awesome in itself!
As of today, The steroids they gave Grace to help with the baby’s lungs has raised Gracie’s blood sugars as expected so as I mentioned before she is now in the triage labor delivery ward- the good news is a dedicated nurse.
She has very high ketones which is causing her to feel really terrible. Only way to get rid of the ketones is more insulin and fluids but that is exasperating other issues.
She has fluid in the left lung causing pressure and pain and shortness of breath.
She is very weak and cannot stand on her own BUT the infection is getting better thank God!...now we need the swelling to disappear.

What an ordeal. I’ve never heard of such a hardship. Such trauma by a young mother to be. May the good Lord bring her and her baby safely through this painful trial. Amen.

Praying for Gracie and her precious little boy. They are both fighters with support from all over the world. The Lord is already doing great things with this child and his mother. The chain of love and prayer is strong and surrounds them both.
I know the Lord’s will must be done and I pray it is His will for this family to prevail against these medical travails.
Have been praying for Gracie & baby at Mass. I think any gal who’s ever been pregnant and had complications can really feel for her. Hopefully at 20 she’s still got that over-all youth advantage, i.e. her body is not in the incipient stages of the degenerative conditions of middle age. For pregnancy, age 20 is dramatically better than 35.
I will pray and pray, hope she and the baby pull through brilliantly, to the glory of God. God bless the dedicated nurses, docs, specialists, all the legion of carers. And God bless all her dear ones.
