Trump Should Sign the Bad Border Deal and Finish the Wall on His Own
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

Posted on 02/12/2019 4:57:12 AM PST by EyesOfTX

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Ok, the whole “black face” thing just very predictably veered off into the theater of the absurd. – Semi-tone deaf pop singer Katy Perry fell into the “black face” controversy on Monday for no good reason at all, because of course she did. Social media always takes any real issue like the one swirling around Virginia Democrats to the most ridiculous extremes possible.

Ms. Perry has attached her name to a line of shoes, and some, like those pictured above, have little eyes, nose and mouth glued onto them. Sort of like something your 6 year-old granddaughter might design (trust me, I know about this first hand). Anyway, because the shoes pictured above happen to be black in color, a bunch of nitwits on Twitter desperate to be offended accused the singer of being a racist yesterday.

Never mind the fact that the line of shoes come in a variety of different colors – it’s only the black ones that are somehow offensive. Ms. Perry has yet to apologize, something she should never even consider doing in a million years. Because the truth is this: Had her line of shoes included a variety of colors, but not black ones, she’d have then been accused by the very same nitwits of discrimination. You all know that is true.

The people who know “Beto” best would rather go see Trump. Take this as an object lesson. – When the White House announced last Thursday that President Donald Trump would travel to El Paso for a political rally on Monday, Irish Bob O’Rourke, an El Paso native, quickly announced he would hold a “counter-rally” of his own.

Hearts began to flutter throughout our fake news media – as they always do whenever the cute ex-sheep suit-wearing punk rocker opens his mouth – as the wags began to rampantly speculate that their precious “Beto” would surely draw more people to his rally than the President would. After all, El Paso was his home town! Why surely the people who know and love “Beto” best would turn out in mobs to hear his immaculate pronouncements!

Uh, well, no. That didn’t happen. Not even close. The fake news media did its best to cover it up, but the reality is that the President had an overflow crowd of 8,000 or so inside the arena in which he spoke, and another 20,000 or so standing out in the elements watching on large TV screens. Here’s a shot of a small part of that outdoor crowd:

Meanwhile, a few blocks down the road, only a couple of thousand showed up to listen to the city’s fake favorite son. It turns out that familiarity really does breed contempt.

But the reality won’t stop the fake news media from lying about it all anyway. The shameless fake newsers at The Week have a piece out this morning with this headline: “Trump Seemed Very Interested in Beto O’Rourke’s Evidently Larger Crowd During His El Paso Rally,” thus deceitfully implying that Irish Bob actually drew more people than Trump did, something not even the most biased fake reporters on the scene attempted to claim.

How false is that headline? Despite massively inflating O’Rourke’s actual turnout by a factor of seven or so, The Week’s own piece admits the Trump crowd was far larger:

Trump’s audience inside the coliseum was 6,500, at capacity, El Paso Fire Department public information officer Enrique Aguilar told the El Paso Times. “It might be 10,000 with the people outside,” watching on monitors. The rally O’Rourke spoke at, following a mile-long march, drew at least 7,000 people, The Texas Tribune reports.

Um, last time I looked, 10,000 is more than 7,000, even when those absurdly-faked numbers appear in a fake news publication like The Week.

Another bad deal on the border. – The very Swampy congressional negotiators announced a very, very, very bad “bi-partisan” deal on border security funding as President Trump was flying out to Texas on Monday. The “deal” includes just $1.375 for “border barrier” funding – because we mustn’t say “wall”, you know – far below the President’s $5.7 billion demand. It’s a lousy deal, negotiated by lousy Republican swamp rats and open-borders Democrats. The outcome was thus predictable.

If this smelly “deal” passes both houses of congress and is sent to his desk, the President has only three options that would preserve his electoral viability going into 2020:

- Reject the bill, which means another fake partial government shutdown; or

- Sign the bill and immediately announce either a national emergency declaration or, as White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney laid out on Sunday, that he will use his presidential authority to reallocate unused funds from the Defense, Homeland Security and other departmental budgets to fund the wall. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Mulvaney said:

“Any president can do this…There are certain funds of money that he can get to without declaring a national emergency and other funds that he can only get to after declaring a national emergency. The whole pot is well north of $5.7 billion.”

That is the path the President should take. The Democrats are desperate to force another shutdown in order to change the subject from racist, baby-murdering, women-assaulting Virginia Democrats, disastrous Green New Deals and anti-Semite Minnesota congresswomen. So they’ll be all too thrilled to deny more paychecks to those same 800,000 federal workers and cry their crocodile tears over them.

The President should not give them that gift when he has them so clearly on the defensive.

What President Trump cannot do is sign this atrocity of a “deal” and do nothing else on border security. More than any other element of his 2016 campaign, his promise to secure our Southern border is why he was elected. He cannot leave that promise unaddressed any longer and expect to be re-elected in 2020.

The time to act is now.

That is all.

Then let those RINOS who want to block the wall go on record. Great material for primary challenges.

SLOW BLEED OF THE REPUBLIC

Exactly right, except the bleeding is accelerating.
Most collapses start slowly, gain momentum and then occur in a flash.
The anti-American/one-worlders are broadcasting their agenda very clearly.
Limiting detention beds ignores the reality of the growing threat, essentially renders the borders wide open and extends an offer to millions of a trouble-free entry to the U.S.
How cute...and how treasonous.

I would endorse limiting accommodations for effective processing of a pre-established number of annual applicants, and when such become fully utilized close the border. Mexico would swiftly begin to monitor the northbound traffic at its border.

Sign it with the cap on the number of beds? No, he shouldn’t sign it with this poison pill in it. It is catch and release 2.0.

We publish our limit, and what is there to keep the invaders for conspiring to overwhelm us? It is like fighting a battle and telling the enemy the limit of troops we are going to deploy.

And the purpose of publicizing this limit number is?????

Federalize the National Guard in all border states (thereby rebuking those DNC Governors) while at the same outlawing Sanctuary Cities. Accomplish utilizing an EO citing presidential authority as Chief LEO and CC. Utilize discretionary spending funds to build the wall and cover shortfalls for the Department Homeland Security Immigration, Customs and Enforcement activities.

By declaring a National Emergency and writing separate EOs for each aspect this plan it becomes compartimalized for legal challenges.

The part the DNC’ers cannot overturn is the federalization of the State National Guard in AZ, CA, NM, CO, TX, LA NY, WA, NV, and anywhere else that there are Sanctuary Cities. Nor the arrest of those breaking Federal Laws.

Send in the National Guard as was done to Gov McGovern in AL and declare Martial Law in those sanctuary cities using the troops - arrest those elected officials and LEO who refuse to comply with the Presidential Decree. If members of political parties are vocal or try or organize demonstrations lock’em up under Federal Statute and Legal Authority that goes with Martial Law in Sanctuary Cities as rebels or on anti-America activities - such as membership in the communist party.

The FBI can detain the political and LEO offenders and other people in positions of power who are not executing their legal obligations under Federal Law it forces them to lawyer up to defend themselves against become felony offenders.

Build the wall using US Army Corps of Engineers transferred from various State functions like waterway projects by issuance of Government Contracts to companies to backfill for the CE.

FEMA emergency funds can be used to hold detainees, illegal immigrants and build housing for ICE per the 25% increase sought by the president.

This is no different from the Southern States during the Civil War - Trump is immediately sitting behind the same desk as was Lincoln.

The future belongs to those who can insulate themselves with legal authority and legally derived power to execute the laws of this great Nation.

Non-starter. Congress won’t pass such a bill. The Dems want to continue to import more voters. We need to reduce legal immigration.

I think that is likely what Trump is planning to do. He had to get something out of the Dems to save face. Now he can use unallocated funds plus the $1.7 billion from the current deal.

I agree. I don’t want a legislative victory. We had that victory years ago, but still no Wall.

I’m tired of this shallow debate; everyone has already shown their cards. Declare the national emergency or just divert funds. Build the Wall. Press for a rapid review when America’s globalist enemies file a case in front of their hand-picked Obama judge. And then make all the necessary funding available to build 1,900 miles of Border Wall this year. Don’t just go for symbolic progress - get the job done now.

President Trump doesn’t need this issue to get reelected. Instead, he can point to the accomplishment, and push for a second big task for his second term. [I want that to be deporting every single illegal in our country, but it’s better politically if he articulates a different priority during the campaign and then deports all those criminals while also accomplishing his new goal.] How about ending HIV/AIDS completely as a second-term goal?

Throw in three more Supreme Court picks, 100-plus lower court judges, and a shift toward smaller federal government and more restrained spending, and the Trump Presidency will be a big win for America.
