Read a couple of good reviews. Plan on watching it.
I liked the initial vignette (although the ending caught me by surprise) and my favorite was the prospector.
Loved it. The fact that some segments were a bit strange didn’t detract at all from the whole. Great choice of music. The wagon train episode alone was outstanding.
I did the exact same thing!
After the first “gun fight” I started laughing so I continued. The unarmed “gun fight” with the loose table board had me rolling.
I’m waiting for the fam to go to bed so I can watch it all the way through.
Watching Miller’s Crossing right now. It’s boring.
Fargo was pretty good but I don’t like being lied to.
It was not a true story. Not even based on one.
Cool, a new Coen brothers flick?Miller’s Crossing will always be my favorite, Blood Simple was great too.
Buster Scruggs,,,
Straight to DVD?
Oh Brother, Where are Thou?
Coen brothers at their Best.
You mean the Coen sisters?
It's only a topic of interest if your weird, but I don't see any great movie skills. I did like the prospector though. The spinster built you up for a happy ending and the prospector seemed hopeless but then turned a twist.
It was kinda like "What did I just watch?" The guy with no arms and legs, Jeesh!
Watching it right now actually. Very different kind of western.
My favorite Coen Brothers movie (perhaps my favorite movie period) was “True Grit.” It scored 89% in Rotten Tomatoes and featured Hailee Steinfeld (won an award for best young actress), Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin. Two Jewish brothers who wonderfully wove in the hymn “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.”
No County for Old Men
Blood Simple
Those are my favorite creepy Coen flicks.
One word of advice. Pause the first and last page of each short story and read for extra added insights, and be sure to pay special attention to each of the story picture plates and their subheadings.
Enjoy, we did.
Watched it Friday night. Very well done. Good stories with neat twists, good acting.
I watched part of it earlier today. Very dark humor. I may try again or not. Not sure I need that kind of darkness right now.
It is an anthology of a series of six vignettes, all with Western themes. Lots of old western songs for the soundtrack. Excellent cinematography.
It was different but then I like different sometimes.
I'd watch it again.
three thumbs up
