(snip) NBC's 'Meet the Press' host Chuck Todd repeatedly asked Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin about the president's attitude, language, and word choice.
President Trump made fun of the NBC host's "sleepy eyes" at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, and speculated that NBC might be "worse than CNN". "He's a sleeping son of a bitch, I'll tell you," Trump said about Chuck Todd's droopy eyes.
"I understand you wanted to get back on an economic message, but ... last night he was praising authoritarian figures in China and North Korea and encouraging boos at the American press," Chuck Todd reported. "Does this mean this American president is now longer going to be preaching about the values of freedom of the press and democracy around the world?"
The Treasury Secretary replied that he is on the show to talk about policy and wants to focus on that.
"If that's what we should be focused on, why can't the president focus on that, sir? ... Would you call last night's speech a focused speech?" Todd asked.
"I wasn't at the campaign rally, ..." Mnuchin stated.
Todd doubled down: "So should we stop covering the campaign rally? If it doesn't matter what he says there. If we're to dismiss everything he says at the campaign rally as you're trying to imply, are you saying we shouldn't cover these things?"
"You're putting words in my mouth," Mnuchin said. "You should obviously carry them because these are important moments for the president and this is news. What I'm trying to say is, I'm focused on the policies... What I came to talk about were the president's policies."
Asked for a question on policy, Chuck Todd asked one final question: "When [President Trump] uses vulgarity to talk about individuals, what are they supposed to tell their kids?"

When [President Trump] uses vulgarity to talk about individuals, what are they supposed to tell their kids?
What do they tell them every evening when they watch regularly TV? What do they tell them when they are walking through the grocery store? At a baseball game?
Ask Todd Jr what sex he wants to be and then arrange the operation?
Mr Todd, criticizing reporters for being dishonest is promoting rather than attacking the values of the first amendment. There is no protected class in those values that should be allowed to lie and distort while remaiming free from critism. You are not being silenced on cendored by violent mobs nor social media compamy bias. You are bitching about being treated unfairly while at the same time not giving a rats behind about the peoole that are actually being treated unfairly...and guess what? That is why boo you guys.
"It's OK, kids, your grandmother isn't really a dog."
I dunno, Chuck. How do you explain to your kids all those same-sex couples at your Beltway/Northeast Media gatherings?
this coming from a guy who belongs to the party of cRap Music and Hollywood movies, what a horses a$$.
When did Democrats of all people turn into such prissy Victorians? But it’s only about language, from specific types of people of whom they have high expectations. Everybody else gets a pass. Very weird.
"That's what men who won't share mommy with other men sound like?"
F Chuck should tell his kids that he’s probably not their father.
“When [President Trump] uses vulgarity to talk about individuals, what are they supposed to tell their kids?”
A question only a pansy would ask.
Bless his heart ...
Spoken by an idiot of idiots that made every excuse in the book up for Bill Clinton and his grifter wife.
How about that you're a LYING NO GOOD SON OF A BITCH F. Upchuck Todd and President Trump was being kind by leaving the "lying no good" part out.
Tell them to eat their vegetables and quit watching worthless television.
The truth hurts.
[When did Democrats of all people turn into such prissy Victorians? ]
When it serves their narrative. Its all about the agenda. They blow with the wind.
Yeah, and remind him that his hollyweird buddies work overtime exposing our children to MUCH worse than whatever it is that Trump is so vulgar about.
“....what are they supposed to tell their kids?””
The truth! Trump’s right!
