Scientists examined some of the reasons as to why people drink alcohol. Of course, some of these reasons can be personal - a special occasion, habit, outing with a loved one, or Friday evening.
However, these are all specific occasions. It is important to consider what a person’s motivation is when they drink during these times. What is it that they want to achieve?
This study is not simply about those who are alcoholics. Scientists in this study were interested in the behavior of all drinkers without exception, even if a person drinks only once a year and solely for serious matters.
Scientists believe that this will help reduce the consumption of alcohol around the world. They suggest that the next time you drink, think about why you decided to do it. There are many people who drink before going to bed to relax. There are those who drink with friends. But if you drink because you want to forget about your problems, then drinking is not your best option. It may help to remember that all the problems you want to forget about when you drink will still be there when you are sober again.

Don’t forget (pun) that it can also be for gustatory and/or social lube purposes. The scientist is not the philosopher or theologian.
Brute force drowning of troubles to pretend they don’t exist is wrong, but easing through them while still proceeding constructively may not be wrong. It’s the difference between “don’t worry” and “don’t care.”

My nightly ritual when supplies are ample and the weather cooperates. Well, the cigar anyway. The Scotch requires no such cooperation from the weather.
Yeah, come home after a rough day and I have glass of wine to feel better. It often ends tragically. I have to get up the next morning, go back to work and experience another s4itty day.
Why do they want to reduce alcohol consumption?
Alcohol provides a whole wealth of benefits. This would include a multitude of jobs supporting the whole industry and good health benefits (physical, mental, spiritual). Even Jesus drank alcohol.
This whole demonizing items because ‘experts’ (paid propagandists with an agenda) needs to be called out and exposed wherever we see it.
I hardly drink. But this makes me want to get something just because now.

Alcohol cut a wide swath through my family but this article was dreadful——almost amateurish.

Many people who do drugs drink after or while doing those drugs in order to smother some of the paranoia from the drugs. Other addicts get drunk while in withdrawal.

Yesterday was 67F! It was a great cigar day!
Today, was only a good Scotch day. 18F.
I almost never drink because I’d rather get my calories from potato chips or donuts, when I do drink, it’s wine having dinner with friends.
In my “yout”, I liked a good vodka martini up.
