Why the Tax bill will destroy Blue State Republicans AND the national Democrat Party
vanity | November 27, 2017 | Kevin J. Collins

The list of Republicans who voted NO on the Tax bill makes a very clear statement about the future of their party in the Blue States. They are a dozen or so poor souls clinging to the old politics way of doing things. Knowing he had the votes to pass a tax bill that would destroy the states these people come from, Speaker Paul Ryan gave them permission to vote NO.

In old pre-Trump politics this would shield them from effective attacks and save their jobs; but those days are over.

The bill contains the greatest attack by a majority party on the minority party in at least 80 years. It will end the SALT “State and Local Tax” deduction from federal income tax returns.

This will mean those who live in what the media and Democrats derisively call “Flyover Country” will no longer be forced to subsidize the Democrats purchase of votes using their tax money.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has called the SALT elimination a “DISASTER” for his state. Do we need more to convince us SALT is a great start for dismantling the Democrats shake down system of squeezing all Americans to pay for their vote buying schemes?

As time goes by – and make no mistake it won’t be a long time – middle class MAKERS will abandon the 10 or so states owned and controlled by Democrats because the “make up taxes” (see things like soda tax) will be just too much to carry.

When this happens more TAKERS will arrive as they will be squeezed out of the other 40 states by things like workfare, food stamp cuts and threats of deportation.

The unavoidable result of these factors will be that Democrats will be sealed into 10 states that look like Hawaii. They will no longer be able to offer a threat to Republican power on the national stage.

In 2018 the Democrats will take back most if not all of the few Republican seats in these states and “seem” to be gaining strength; but it will be an illusion. The 2020 census redistricting will draw away congressional districts lost by the hollowing out Blue States and give them to Red States. Lost seats will be made up enough to maintain a working majority for the Republicans.

Enforcement of voter identification laws will lead to discouraged and financially destroyed Democrats quitting politics.

Deportation and voter ID enforcement will make Blacks the Democrats’ only reliable minority group.

This will result in Democrats being forced to support things like Reparations and a separate Black nation to bow to the radical leftists in the Black Congressional Caucus. It will be calamitous for the Democrats.

As taxes rise in Blue States to provide Democrats with the money to buy votes, industries like Wall Street and Department store shopping that do not need a brick and mortar location will find it much cheaper to move to a Red State.

When they awake to these factors Senate Republicans will pass the tax bill. They will come to realize that their hatred of Donald Trump pales before the opportunity for lifetime job security his tax plan presents to them.

“then let California taxpayers pay for it”

They, and only THEY pay for it now.

Of course if you actually knew Jack, you would know that.

And I stand ready to hear how you are subsidizing it...

I live in New York. This bill will raise my taxes. But I am all in favor of it because it is the right thing to do.

Principles are principles....well done.

Up in Canada, they have 'have' and 'have not' provinces. The haves(I believe only Ontario and Alberta) are required to send money to the other provinces. Quebec gets to have there little socialist paradise because of the subsidies it receives from the 'haves.' No need to be financial responsible when you have a sugar daddy.

Which Freeper here thinks this is fair to the financial responsible provinces of Alberta and Ontario? Which Freeper here says Quebec should get more just because they have a vacation home on the St. Lawrence?

“If the Democrats are going to classify every component of the tax code that lowers your taxes as a “subsidy” “

that’s what REPUBLICANS are doing.

Raising taxes is never a good thing and always results in less federal revenue. Pres. Trump was hamstrung by Paul Ryano. I am sure Mr. Trump wanted across the board tax cuts.

They get to deduct their state taxes, so no they are not. Nice try.

I agree with what you are saying but please don’t blame Pres. Trump. You know he wanted across the board tax cuts but the sh!+ heads in congress aren’t really supply side Republicans.

And what of the millions of patriots, families, churches, veterans, and conservatives who live, worship, and raise children in states like CA, NY, MN, NJ, MA, CT, IL, and others?

I guess we're supposed to "take one for the team."

“No need to be financial responsible when you have a sugar daddy.”

CA, NJ, NY and IL subsidize the red states.

They pay more in Federal Income Taxes than they receive back in Federal expenditures of any kind.

This is one of the reasons the poor red states are able to keep their state and local taxes lower.

To include even the behemoth Texas which receives $1.50 in Federal Expenditures for every dollar of Income Tax paid by state residents. The Giant Florida also receives more than it pays.

Of course, if you knew Jack, you would know that already.

It looks as though the ‘makers’ are finally taking control of Michigan, Wisconsin, New Hampshire and possibly Pennsylvania. Governor Scott has given the parasite class a very good reason to leave.

It’s apparent you don’t know how taxes or itemization or the Federal Budget works.

Of course, if you actually PAID INCOME TAXES you would know more.

I love Trump. I really do. But if he signs a bill into law that will result in a massive tax increase for millions of middle class Americans - then that’s on him. I have quotes of him from his rallies. What this bill would do is the OPPOSITE of what he promised.

Texas has a state sales tax and more than 25% of all state filers itemize and take that deduction.

But tax cuts/reform won’t pass. Not this year, not next. The ePubs are trying to hand back both houses to the Dems

************

You may be right. The GOP snatches defeat from the jaws victory time and time again. The Gutless Old Party prefers following over leading.

That said, the congress as a whole is suffering from scandals and pathetically low ratings. The GOP in particular is widely seen as inept and unable to do anything.

Because its image has been so severely damaged of late, I think there’s a chance the bruised congress could pass some watered down form of tax legislation just to distract from their own problems. It won’t be much, but it will be enough for them to go back home and declare victory instead of being badgered by endless questions about their scandals and ineptitude.

I think that each individual should be able to claim $10,000 deduction for the SALT that they paid.

That could be their state income tax, property tax or sales tax or a combination. In Washington state we have high property tax but no income tax. Some states have low property tax but have an income tax.

Do you think it is fair for Alberta/Ontario or do you have a home on the St. Lawrence?

“In Washington state we have high property tax but no income tax”

You also have a very high sales tax...something near 8.5%.

And for those in the state that itemize they can either keep receipts or use the standard IRS table to deduct those sales taxes.
