>> In fact, the above was the 1992 election <<

Yes, and not too different from the 1912 election, where TR’s splitting the GOP gave us Woodrow Wilson and all the bad things that came from having such a hubristic, “progressive” and unrealistically idealistic theoretician in the WH.

Ditch the MAGA stuff. This isn’t about Trump.
Just call it something with the name “conservative”. It should hold true to conservative principals until the exit generation redefines what conservatism means.

Nothing will be successful so long as a Congress of long term incumbents makes the laws. The Constitution set the terms. If there were limits to one term and a return to Senators chosen by state legislatures so that the Sovereign States of the 120 years ago become again Sovereign States with representation in Washington as Sovereign States instead of as provinces then we might regain the Republic.

Without severe erm limits each Congressman has a very high value to corporations and ideological formations and the Congressmen are paid what they are worth to keep them on the Plantation. With severe term limits that value declines tremendously and Congressmen might well find it more profitable or more to their fancy to do what the voters sent them to do instead of just securing lifetime sinecures for their post-Congressional careers and large money inflows in their current Congressional careers. If a businessman haaas to return to his community after 2 or 6 years and function in a private role there without a huge lobbyist provided cushion, he will do what he can to satisfy his constituents and maybe past and future customers and clients.

“People are disgusted with where the DemocRAT Party has taken the country”

I have trouble believing that, but if you can show me a SINGLE Democrat Senator facing a Primary challenge for being too liberal, I might believe you.

But until then, all I see is ROCK-SOLID UNITY by the Democrats. (we might want to consider some of that under Trump, by the way)

The Constitution has already made provision for the election of the candidate if no one has majority of electors.

if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the...House [of Representatives] shall...chuse the President. --U.S.Const. Art. II, Sec. 1, Cl. 3.

You would need a constitutional amendment to implement your idea.

We should not go by a political party label or tag anyway - we should go by their RECORD as private citizen or otherwise and what they stand for by using CAVEAT EMPTOR, let the buyer - in this case the voter - beware.

>> no president’s popularity lasts long enough to build a wholly new party on <<

And likewise, I guess we could say also that no president’s UNPOPULARITY lasts long enough to build a wholly new party on.

Specifically, the Whig Party was inspired in large part by the Hate-Andrew-Jackson movement. But in spite a few good ideas, the Whigs never found a magic formula that would let the Party long outlive the death of Jackson and the death of the leading Whig guru, Henry Clay.

Every word you’ve written is critically important, especially the final sentence. The citizenry is so far removed from truly educated about our original republic, that it will indeed take divine intervention and blessing to bring about His second huge miracle for our nation. I keep reminding myself the things that are impossible with Man, are possible with God. Thank you for posting your thoughts.

Yes, I agree. The section of the Constitution you referenced only applies if there is no overall (national) electoral majority. The problem with third parties is that they upset the apple cart within individual states.

“America First” makes swing voters wonder about Hitler.

WTFlip???

If that’s what it does to swing voters, then we’re in worse shape than we’ve thought.

I happen to DISAGREE with you, x.

Swing votes, those who crossed over to vote for Trump, overwhelmingly seem to put America first...over foreigners who’ve taken their jobs...either here, or overseas.

We should know the times and the seasons (1 Thess 5:1-8) and it is apparent we are in the last days. However, the exact day and hour of his return for his saints is unknown.

But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matt 24:36. Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come. Matt 24:42

"What a man can conceive can be done" is a nice thought for inspiration, but we live in a world of limits, constraints, and of hard facts and circumstances. No matter how many visioning sessions we may have to achieve such a project, no human is going to flap their naked arms and fly around town like a bird.

Modern American political parties depend on mass support, and when a party's elected officials disappoint its supporters, the efficient and reliable remedy is to replace those elected officials in primaries or await or work for their defeat in the general election.

Otherwise, creating a new political party to displace an existing one requires developing mass support, an expensive and time-consuming task akin to establishing a new mass retailer to compete with WalMart and Target. Not likely.

Moreover, as with retailers facing a new rival, the party targeted can adjust their issues and performance to prevent support for the new party from solidifying and getting large enough to be a danger. For example, even with major funding and as the big libertarian issue of marijuana legalization is gaining victories, the Libertarian Party itself remains a marginal influence as a political party.

As for the health care issue, I am confident that GOP members of Congress will get pummelled by their constituents during the summer and holiday recesses. They will return with stiffened spines and renewed worry over the prospects for keeping their majorities.

OK, I’m all for a term limit constitutional amendment if it’s done right.

But that still can’t replace the American people waking up and grabbing hold of THEIR freedom, THEIR Constitution, and THEIR freedom.

After all these bums must be elected. An awake populace will throw the bums out without term limits and one way or the other, that is what needs to happen.

Your conception of a political party requires a high degree of knowledge and virtue. I am not sanguine of the chances for success with such a limitation.

I guess. Basically I’m only talking about the American People rising up and taking back their country and their Constitution. It’s already started and not without God’s help. God will to continue to help and we will win.
