On Twitter I just did a thread about how a new party that would replace the Republicans might come into being.
1. I don't think this can happen by 2018. Not enough prep time.
2. It should not copy the Reform Party and try to start, de novo, all at once.
3. It needs to begin within the GOP but (unlike the Tea Party) ALWAYS with the intention of going solo.
4. A candidate in 2018, for example, would run as an R but affix an "AmericaFirst/MAGA" affiliation. Start getting the brand out. This is key to name recognition on ballots.
5. At the same time, said candidates need to be talking very frankly with donors saying, "Next time I run, it will be with the AmericaFirst/MAGA Party" and I'll need your help more than ever.
6. When possible, FLIP the "R" and "AmericaFirst/MAGA") to "AmericaFirst/MAGA" THEN R. (This is exactly what the "Democratic Republicans" of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison did in 1800-1810 until all that remained was the "Republicans."
7. In 2020, make the jump.
8. Trump should endorse CANDIDATES, but not specifically the AmericaFirst Party until 2020.
10. My thought is that HE would have to remain an R in 2020---it's still going to be relatively close in pop votes in a number of states, even though he likely will win more electoral votes than today.
11. As soon as he wins in 2020, he makes the registration change and from that point for the next four years it's all "AmericaFirst/MAGA."
12. This won't be easy. It will be brutal. MANY good candidates will lose due to confusion, Rs putting up multiple decoys, etc. We have to be ready.
13. It's all about name recognition. See Lisa (the COW) MurCOWski and how she screwed Miller by running as an independent with her superior name recognition.
But it can be done. I think this is our best shot in years. Someone said, "The Rs would just coopt it like they did the Tea Party." Well, that wasn't exactly what happened to the TP. In many cases, people just quit after the election thinking they had done their job, and not realizing that politics these days is 24/7. Toomey is a great example. After he got elected, no one held his feet to the fire.
Second, the Tea Party did not understand that winning is about GOVERNING, not just winning the election. I know personally of a county in OH that kicked out a reasonably good GOP chairman and replaced him with a TP guy who would "bring in more TP types." Except they guy couldn't fundraise, couldn't speak to the old-line GOP, so the party lost serious ground & he had to resign.
We shouldn't think (as I'm sure most of you don't) that just cause they are AmericaFirst/MAGA they are political stars. Some will be good, some will be losers. Sorting all this out is a difficult process, but it is a process and everyone has to be willing to stick it out.
Recall the market disaster that was "New Coke." The brand changed the formula, tried to pass itself off as a new "improved" version of Coke (c. 1985). It flopped. It nearly tanked the company, until they re-introduced the original formula as Coke "Classic."
Bush-RINO's go-along, get-along, "Kinder, Gentler" GOP = "New Coke."
Why can't we have Republican "Classic" -- free of the faggot sympathizers, the "amnestoids," and scared-of-their-shadows squishes that have wormed into the brand over the years and have been in the process of tanking it?
How about we start Scaramucci-ing a few more people? Start with the money. Our party is headed by a billionaire, not a money grubbing criminally compromised extort-able pussy.
Let's put on the business hat that has dealt with the Manhattan mobs for 40 years. What strategy can Trump's people employ to defund the disloyal? At the same time figuratively "string up" the traitors and instilling boot quaking fear into those who might be tempted to screw with Trump's success?
The Republican brand has been acquired by Trump-MAGA, Inc.
Don't surrender the hard won name. Make politicians fear the thought of ever pissing on that name, and hit them in the $ when they get out of line.
FReegards!
Currently there are serious efforts to form a Bernie Sanders party, a Trump party, and a Centrist party. There is more money in the Centrist party than the wing parties. The Centrist party would be controlled by pragmatists of no particular ideology. aka opportunists. They would be willing to welcome socially liberal, fiscally conservative types, which would be their base. But they would also pander to every conceivable person unhappy with the two major parties, regardless of ideology. Because they would be willing to accept anyone, they have the potential to grow far more than the wing parties. The wing parties constantly seek purity. Would a wing party accept me, who voted for Trump but disagrees with Trump on immigration and trade? Picture a replay of Truman and Dewey in 1948. The Chicago Tribune was sure that Dewey would win because the Dixiecrats and Strom Thurmond took one wing of the party and Wallace and the socialists took the other wing of the Democrats. The Tribune figured the Democrats were split 3 ways and thus the united Republicans would win. In a 2020 with 4 or 5 parties all bigger than the LP and Green parties of the past presidential years, who would be the Harry Truman who defies conventional wisdom to win? Think about that logically, not emotionally.
49 repubs stayed solid. Can’t dismiss the whole party because of McInsane. He never has sided with GOP that I can recall on any big issue. He is a war monger and nothing more. He was a lousy pilot, crashed 3 or 4 planes, and loves to kiss the media to get his face on TV.
Good news is he has not many days left on this earth.
Education is critical. only a tiny minority of people under 60 years old has ever had any exposure in the schools to History and Reasoning and Grammar, all of which are necessary to think critically and to have the resources in your brain to know what to think about. Not knowing history people are open to any insane system that politicians can make to sound good. Not knowing history prevents a sense of time and results. No one can see that harebrained schemes like socialism have always failed in the past. The inevitable failure of individual socialist schemes does not impinge on the mind because there is no connection of cause and effect if they are separated by more than a year or less.
McInsane & Linda are simply neocons, and never met a war they did not like.
There, finished your sentence for you.
BTW, how's Debbie Blabbermouth Schult's power hold doing?
It would look like Ron Paul and you’re years behind the curve on it.
Tell you what. You teach ‘em history and I’ll teach ‘em the Constitution. I’m in the process right now of signing up to do just that at the local junior college.
Gotta start somewhere, but you gotta have faith. You’ll lose out if you don’t have faith that ultimately God will see this thing through.
A small minority was all it took to foment the American Revolution and a small but determined, wise, and knowledgeable minority is all we need. You and God are a majority. It’s already started and the unlikely and somewhat miraculous Trump presidency is evidence that God is working on our behalf - on America’s behalf.

“BTW, how’s Debbie Blabbermouth Schult’s power hold doing?”
Just fine...NOT A SINGLE DEMOCRAT has come out against her...nor will they ever.
Fear is a mighty motivator.
Man's calculations do not trump God's Word. You're probably confusing the second part of Jesus' return with the first part.
No one knows the hour or the day Jesus will come FOR his saints like "a thief in the night" to snatch His Church away to Heaven in a twinkling of an eye - no one sees it (they only see the aftermath).
But when that happens, Daniel's seventieth week begins and we know exactly when He will return WITH his saints seven years later "as lightning that flashes in the east even to the west" - everyone will see it.
Since God's Word says that, in such an hour as you do not expect, the Son of man will come [for his saints] (Matt 24:44), you could make a winning bet that he will NOT show up on your predicted date since presuming to know the day and the hour explicitly goes against God's Word.

Badge of Honor.
Whoops, meant that as a reply to your post #6.
The Progressives technically split in 1912, but mostly rejoined by 1920. TR was already dead by 1920. La Follette launched his leftist independent (Progressive) Presidential candidacy in 1924 when Conservatives were nominated on both the GOP (Coolidge) and Dem (John W. Davis) tickets. That was also the last year the Dems nominated a Conservative.
I would join today!!
People do not “rise up” except under great distress or provocation. Instead, elections and the imperfect mechanisms of representative government provide the remedy, if any remedy is to be had. And, contrary to all reasonable expectations, in our now long history, America and Americans somehow always seem to rally and master the challenges thrown before us. We not only live in a great country, be we live among great people.
