Reports of the FBI seizing computer hard drives form the home of the congressional IT director and aide of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are accurate, according to FBI sources: with the exception of one major detail. The computer hard drives were not damaged when they were confiscated, FBI sources said.
The FBI, who is working in some capacity to assist with the Capitol Police on the Awan investigation, confirm the hard drives and other computer equipment have been damaged but are pointing the finger at the Capitol Police’s chain of custody with the evidence. The FBI, they said, would not damage evidence and stressed if someone went to the trouble of destroying evidence before a seizure they normally would discard of it as well, federal sources said.
Capitol Police officials would not respond to requests for comment.
The computer drives and equipment are linked to the Awan Brothers and Wasserman herself, according to law enforcement sources and media reports.

Pakistani-born Imran Awan, long-time right-hand IT aide to the former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman (Wasserman), has since desperately tried to get the hard drives back, the individual told The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.
A high-level congressional source, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the probe, confirmed that the FBI has joined what Politico previously described as a Capitol Police criminal probe into “serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network” by Imran and three of his relatives, who had access to the emails and files of the more than two dozen House Democrats who employed them on a part-time basis.
Capitol Police have also seized computer equipment tied to the Florida lawmaker.
Awan’s younger brothers, Abid and Jamal, his wife, Hina Alvi, and Rao Abbas, Imran’s best friend, are also under investigation. There have been no arrests in the case.
Journalist George Webb reported several weeks ago the Wasserman-linked computer hard drives had been seized as part of the Awan investigation. But there was never any mention the drives were physically altered. That would give additional credence to the FBI’s account that the drives were in good physical condition at the time of the seizure.
Debbie wanted her hard drives back. When the Capitol police wouldn’t cooperate she threatened to defund them.

I'd venture it isn't for Dirty Washerwoman Schitz, it's for (in descending order of likelihood) avoiding serious jail time, a massive amount of money, or a vastly misplaced sense of party loyalty.
In any case, whoever did it is walking dead, expect that loose end to be cleaned up before any testimony is possible...

This doesn’t surprise me, sadly. The NTSB provably altered evidence in a hoax designed to keep Obama’s documentation fraud under wraps. And they have not been willing to disclose the chain of custody for those records so we can see who the suspects are.
But FR has a cadre of posters who will cover up the bigger story. Likely at least one is personally involved in the crimes committed. The swamp is deep and wide, and it effectively camouflages itself among us.
I started my blog because I wanted to keep my daughter’s nightmare of “The Dark Knight” from becoming reality, but in truth it already is reality. Those we entrusted with the job of protecting us are instead targeting us and using their powers to destroy the evidence of it.
That’s why the last regime had to hire people to be fake conservatives on places like FR - to propagate the Alinsky smears suggesting that anybody who said the swamp was deep, wide, criminal, and all-powerful is crazy. As long as large swaths of the public keep their heads buried in the sand, that tactic will work to kill this nation and its Constitution.

Well, there is a job opening in Minneapolis for a police chief....
The best thing they could do is to hire a police chief from within their own ranks. Someone who already knows the problems in the department and how best to fix them.
But they won’t.
They’ll hire some outsider who will make things even worse.
