English gun store |
If there should ever be a terrorist attack, what happens if I and other people try to defend themselves using those guns? What would be the repercussions? The Deputy Chief Constable Paul Netherton immediately put an end to any thought such an idea should be considered. From devon-cornwall.police.uk:
Hernandez replied that it was a a very good question and asked the woman if she would put it in writing so that the chief constable, Shaun Sawyer, could consider it. But she then added: This might be some of our solution to our issues.
The following statement is in response to an interview given today, Monday 12 June, to BBC Radio Cornwall by Police and Crime Commissioner, Alison Hernandez, where it was discussed whether or not registered firearms licence holders could be of assistance to police during a terrorist attack.(snip)
Under no circumstances would we want members of the public to arm themselves with firearms, not least because officers responding would not know who the offenders were, and quite obviously they would not have the time to ask.
Our message to the public is a simple one: to run, to hide and to tell. The Deputy Chief Constable never allows any possibility of self-defense. If self-defense with guns is seen as legitimate, the entire scheme of victim disarmament in the UK falls apart.
Which was probably...
Run, Hide, Tell, Go online, Order candles, flowers and teddy bears.
to run, to hide and to tell.

Why do they even have gun stores in the UK when citizens arent allowed to buy/own them? They can have them as long as they store/keep them elsewhere and not in their homes?
They are still allowed to own some kinds of shotguns and some kinds of rifles.
They have to ask permission to do so, and the permission has to be renewed every so often.
But, follow all the rules, jump through all the hoops, and if the Constable thinks you are OK, you can own a gun.
Generally the Brits have always been pathetic....but now they are beyond that.

> That sounds pathetic. <
It sure does. And the Run-Tell-Hide thing, that’s not something the constable made up on the spur of the moment. It’s official policy. Here it is on a City of London police site:
https://www.cityoflondon.police.uk/advice-and-support/countering-terrorism/Pages/stay-safe.aspx
But it gets even worse. Can a UK citizen even carry pepper spray to defend himself? Nope. Only rape alarms are fully legal. From the link below:
You must not get a product which is made or adapted to cause a person injury. Possession of such a product in public (and in private in specific circumstances) is against the law.

Why do you think we are not British any more?
Pussies!!
“Under no circumstances would we want members of the public to arm themselves with firearms, not least because officers responding would not know who the offenders were, and quite obviously they would not have the time to ask.”
This has been disproven here in the US.
We already have this in Los Angeles, last summer there was an armed break in in Reseda, the Homeowner managed to shoot the thug, the Chief of Police came on TV and warned the Public about trying to DEFEND Themselves against Criminals and cautioned the Public to hide in a closet instead and call 911 so they can come get your dead body.
Don’t forget to put your skirts on before you run and hide!
The 300,000,000 privately owned weapons in this country are the reason tyranny will never flourish here. And its also the reason no program to grab those guns will ever have the slightest chance of success.
And these are the descendants of the longbow archers of Agincourt?
Run, hide tell? Sounds like hide and go seek.
As individuals they are fantastic! Its the governments they elect that suck in long strokes.
Not exactly the Englishmen of Rorke’s Drift!
It flourished for 8 years.
And let them find you and gun you down.
Probably the most important thing we can do long term is to make sure the next generation and the generation after that have shooters too - lots of shooters, the same proportion as our generation if we can get there. That's as important as preventing confiscation or its prerequisite of registration today. The Ctrl-Left thinks long term, and they would be thrilled to disarm us now, but they would also be happy to see shooting fade as a percentage of the population so they can disarm us in 40 years or even 80 years.
Run and hide? No. Not me, not my children, and not my grandchildren as they come along. Not the Scouts (what's left of that once great program), and not the other youth of my (pathetically liberal) area. Never. As an NRA certified pistol, rifle, and shotgun instructor, I have been making an effort and will continue making an effort to reach out to more future shooters. This isn't about bringing in customers for a class to get a little extra money, it's about introducing future generations to a lifestyle and to the concept of self-reliance - the exact opposite of liberalism. There is nothing more political or more important than keeping responsible shooting alive as part of American culture.

It is over 400,000,000 now.
But “never” is a very long time. We put up with government intrusions the founders would never have imagined.
Taxes taken directly from your pay, before you see it.
Requirements to show I.D. before you can travel to other countries.
The idea that you had to get government permission to buy a gun would have been ridiculed.
Eternal vigilance is required. Mindset is more important than armament.
Armament is important to build mindset.
