My good buddy Ranger suffered a severe stroke sometime late Monday early Tuesday of this week. I've been working with the vet trying a few different meds to try and remediate the effects, but nothing has worked and there has been no improvement to his condition, and he's paralyzed on the right side from the neck down. He is comfortable and can drink his water when I hold his head up over the bowl.
We have an appointment for 8:30 in the morning, at which time we'll do what's necessary and Ranger will slip this mortal coil.
Please keep him and me in your prayers.
Handsome dog. So sorry. (We know what you’re going through
from long experience. I hope we’ll see them again under
perfected conditions.)
My condolences. I lost my Belgian Tervuren a few years ago. I know how hard that is.
So sorry to hear it. He looks like a great dog.
Many of us have been in the same spot with our canine friends, and know exactly what you’re going through.
Prayers up....for you and for your beautiful Ranger.
The are our soul and best friends...
I am SO sorry, Joe.
I’m here if you need to...you know.
:(
Will do.
It is always tough to let go of a trusted and beloved pet. My thoughts are with you and Ranger.
Fur babies are family.
Never fear...Rainbow Bridge is ever near.....
I lost my 2 nearly 15 year old GSPs this year.....knowing a replacement will be in the works helps a little. I’ve had 5 GSPs since my first one in 1974. You could say I’ve found the bread that suits me best.
DOG is GOD spelled backwards for a reason.....they are His gift to us in this world.
Empathetic sympathy!
Somehow the screen just became fuzzy, I can’t explain it.
Our canine family are only with us for a short time, but for them it is a lifetime. I hope that you both enjoyed it.
Ours is only going to be 4 in May, and she’s very healthy, but all of us know that the clock is ticking.
Oh Joe, I am so very sorry. You are in my prayers.
Joe, my heart and sincere sympathies go out to you. As hard as it is, please know that you are giving Ranger the greatest act of unselfish love it is possible for you to give. I’ve had dogs continuously since 1968. Although seeing them through the end of their lives never gets easier for me, there’s one thing I’ve learned beyond all doubt. Love never dies. It definitely transcends death. There will be days you feel his presence or possibly think you hear his bark. It’s real and even though some of that will fade with time, the two of you will never truly be parted. Whatever there is beyond death in this life, all your loved ones will be there with you. Yes, even your beloved Ranger. It’s true.
Don’t forget to stop for some Chocolate Ice Cream during that ride. I’m sure Ranger will enjoy it.
He is a handsome Boy and I’m sure you have given him a Life other Dogs would be envious of. Thankfully, Dogs no nothing of envy, it a weakness we alone possess.
Being Dog people ourselves, we have had to do the sad but necessary task you now have to do.
You and Ranger are in our thoughts.
Will pray for Ranger and for you.
Best to you and Ranger. Good luck.
Prayers for Ranger and you.
I never appreciated dogs until I got my Vizsla.
Holy Cow! What love!
I’m so sorry for what you are going through!
I suggest finding another friend soon. Remember, with Christ all things are possible! You’ll see your dog again soon if you believe that.
Sorry :0(
Very tough to do. :(
Beautiful dog.
