I’ve never been much of a fan, so this affects me about as much as a change in the start of the soccer season, which is to say not at all. I think Rob has a bit more appreciation for their musical stylings, so he’s free to weigh in and tell me I’m a tasteless clod if he likes. (It wouldn’t be the first time.)
But didn’t Bono kinda sorta embrace W. a few years back for his work against AIDS in Africa? Even weathering some heat from his fellow leftists for daring to admit their bogeyman of the day just might be a decent human being? That seems hard to square with this, but I guess Bush Derangement Syndrome had nothing on TDS. A guy who calls himself The Edge for some reason explains to Obama’s favorite media outlet, Rolling Stone:

Astounds me that such a mediocre band has such a following.
Quite frankly, I don’t care at all what they do. I am sick of people like this thinking they matter more than others.
U2 released a free album on iTunes called Songs of Innocence and it’s horrible. I’ve deleted it multiple times from my phone but for some reason it keeps showing back up.
Can’t imagine any new offerings from them would be much better, so that’s probably another thing to thank Trump for.

President Trump is already saving the snowflakes money. They’re going to be able to put the cost of the U2 album “back in their pocket”. None of us ever got that $2500.00 Bammie promised we’d be able to put back in our pockets.

They should try something more interesting that that like a vow of silence, hunger strike or holding their breath underwater until Trump gives in to their demands.
there’s more money in trotting out a 30 year old album to tour on.
I never understood the allure of U2. I remember people calling them the new Beatles but I never saw it or heard it. They had a few good songs but most of it is rubbish. Just my opinion.

And I am here to announce that I am not releasing my youtube rendition of “Somewhere over the Raunbow” until after Obama leaves office. I know this is shocking for many. I am also NOT going to buy a box of Frosted Flakes, nor drink a milk shake until AFTER I finish my diet.
