I'm just curious about what songs at Christmas time make you change the station or jump the track on that cd.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
The voice of the singer makes my skin crawl
I think the Little Drummer Boy screech by Bruce Spingstink is my least favorite.
“Wonderful Christmastime” Paul McCartney. Now THAT’S bad.
as to “Mary Did You Know?”, I think you might be a bit harsh. For one, I love the song. No she didn’t know He would walk on water, give sight to the blind, calm the storm with His hand, etc. Yes, she was told He would save the people from sin.
I know Catholics don’t like the part when it tells Mary that the child she delivers would deliver her. Catholics don’t believe she needed delivering. So I get it but still disagree that it’s a bad song.
But, to each his own.
Wonderful Christmastime — I hose that one also.
Kelly Clarkson can’t sing? whoa. She’s one of my sacred cows (should I have said that?)
Seriously, she’s very special to me.
Oh, well. We each get to have our own axiological persuasions.
Can I get an Amen, Brothers and Sisters!
The Jackson Fives "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"
A bit grating but not horrible as long as they keep it to once a day.
and any version of "Mary Did You Know" (Of course she knew, Gabriel told her.)
I like this one. I give them a pass like I give them a pass on anything thing about the angels singing or three wise men. The angels spoke and there is no mention of number or sex of the wise.
I will replace it with Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and Madonna's version of "Santa Baby".
Carol of the Bells.
As somebody who tires of “holiday” being inserted for “Christmas,” in advertising, the PC approved Nutcracker and Carol of the Bells chap me most.
166 replies, and I still haven’t seen “All I want for Christmas is you”. Mariah Carey, I think, though I wouldn’t doubt others have.
LOL! I’ve been listening to Perry Como, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby Christmas music. I just cannot stand this new stuff.
It’s always about themselves, isn’t it? Not to mention, blame others as well. Too much of that going around these days.
OMG yes! hate them
“Oh gosh yes. Paul McCartney really struck out with that song.
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time.... *gag* “
I remember Mark Steyn subbing for Rush the day after Thanksgiving in ‘09. He was mocking the song by singing that line in his British accent. Will forever live in my mind when hearing it.
Ooh, I really dislike this one. But my least favorite is still grandma and that stupid reindeer.
Good theme. Just the tune. Not a fan.
Yes, This Is Christmas. Biggest downer of a Christmas tune I can think of.
Silver Bells
That stupid gd chipmunk song. Gawd.
Chipmunks, ARGH !!
