A teenager from Washington state has become the seventh person to indicate that she will break ranks with party affiliation and become a “faithless elector” in an attempt to prevent Donald Trump being formally enshrined as president-elect when the electoral college meets on 19 December.

Levi Guerra, 19, from Vancouver, Washington, is set to announce that she is joining the ranks of the so-called “Hamilton electors” at a press conference at the state capitol in Olympia on Wednesday.

The renegade group believes it is the responsibility of the 538 electors who make up the electoral college to show moral courage in preventing demagogues and other threats to the nation from gaining the keys to the White House, as the founding fathers intended....

These electors are all political. Mommy and daddy are probably local Board Members on something.

“WA’s electors are pledged to Hillary.
She won the state.”

Yup. WA, like WA, was already baked into the Clinton EC vote-cake from the gitgo.

Look on the bright side. Once her 15 minutes of fame are over, we won’t hear from her ever again.

You vote for the people of YOUR State. That is your duty! It does not matter what another State has done or what your personally would do. If you do not your are not a faithless elector you are a dishonest elector!

With this many faithless electors on the H side she is getting perilously close to not winning even if she managed to flip those 3 states she has Stein contesting. The total for the 3 states is 46 electors but 232 minus 7 puts H at 271 if she does pull those 3 rabbits out of the hat.

Does she think that the Electoral College is a real college and she will go to convince Trump attendees to flip?

The renegade group believes it is the responsibility of the 538 electors who make up the electoral college to show moral courage . . .

Initiating a civil war (if they get enough faithless electors) is not real courage any more than running in front of traffic or playing Russian Roulette are courage. Courage is shown by bravery for a purpose, such as rescuing someone who is in danger. There is no courage in insanity or reckless risk taking, not even if you throw in, "hold my beer and watch this".

Exactly. All of these people are from states Hillary won. Anything for their 15 minutes.

Bwah ha hah - read the article, instead of voting for Hillary she will vote for a more moderate Republican than Trump. She just ended any political career she has in this oh so blue state!

“So her voting for Egg McMuffin is going to hurt Trump how?”

Two theories:
1) They think Trump will burst a rib laughing.
2) If ALL Hillary’s electors voted for “alternative Republicans”, giving Hillary zero EVs, Trump might feel sad for her.

How poetic for electors pledged to Hillary to turn out to be faithless and untrustworthy.

So the “Hamilton Electors” are voting against Hillary in order to protest Trump. I guess I’ll just have to accept that I’ll never understand the mind of a liberal.

Hmm....in 1972, one of Nixon’s electors defected to the Libertarian candidate.

That same elector became the Libertarian Party’s nominee in 1976.
