Thursdays carnage in Dallas, just 200 miles to the north of College Park, elevated Chick-fil-As previous act of support for police to what could be seen in the future as an act of courage.
The popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A has never been a stranger to controversy, and has always weathered the storm with self-confidence and a cheery smile.
But a position at one of its Texas locations that was noble last November could put the sandwich-making outfit on the receiving end of more than mere hate speech in this environment it could lead to violence, if recent events are any indication.
In a move that left law enforcement officers grateful, but may have ruffled the feathers of Black Lives Matters supporters, the College Park, Texas Chick-fil-A location began supporting law enforcement with a T-shirt design, that appropriately says, Back the Blue, and the restaurant proudly displayed it on its Facebook page.
The location wanted to show our support for Police Lives Matter because they are out on our streets every day, restaurant manager Eli Advincula told TheBlaze at the time.
In November the restaurant was countering the acts of employees at other restaurant chains, who would, for example, write BlackLivesMatter on the cups of coffee intended for law enforcement officers.
Black Lives Matter groups and U.S. liberal politicians have caused the morally justified hate to grow to dangerous levels.
God help us all when even a tee-shirt could become dangerous.
We now live in a world where public support for law enforcement is considered controversial.
Absolutely. Not good at all. Thanks liberals. Thanks bastard obama.
Guess it will really tick folks off when Chick-Fil-a allows the blue buckets (idea by Jay Novacek and his wife) to accept donations for the fallen officers’ families to be placed in the restaurants.
After the Ferguson dust up, I walked into my local police station and let them know in person, that I was on their side.
They asked for my name and address, and I was happy to give it. I’m sure lots of my neighbors did the same.
Chick Fil A in NYC does Incredible business.
It’s not in a suburban area. There are a few thouands cops within five minutes of an attack. The first would be there in seconds.
They could still do a lot of damage with so many people, but they will die.
This is insanity.
Put a few bills into the bucket on Saturday. So glad they are doing this!
Local DJ, Russ Martin has a foundation. Read that the foundation is giving each family $40k. Every bit of this $$ is well spent.
Glad most will support and help as they can. Great stories on local news tonight about kids setting up lemonade stands and having cookie sales. It all starts from a young age.
In Orlando, the day after the shooting when people lined up to donate blood. Chic Fil A was there giving out food to those waiting in long lines.
I frequent the Chicken Fil A near my office often. Spicy Chicken sandwich and Waffle fries with lemonade.
One thing that strikes me, the employees they are so bright. I look at them and wonder....”What school and what are they going to major in?”. But go to other fast food joints and you look at the employees you wonder “When were you released from jail or has ICE inspected this place recently?”
Guess where I am having lunch at tomorrow?
Contrast this with the libtard Ben an Jerry’s who wore shirts saying “hands up don’t shoot”. Even now, on their website, under the heading of ‘democracy’, they post the question “Are all cops bad” with the following remarks:
“Its not a question of whether or not police are good or bad. We know our criminal justice system is rife with inequities based on race. One striking example is that African Americans are 5 times more likely to be incarcerated than whites. We must acknowledge that systemic racism and implicit bias are creating unfair outcomes for people of color in our country. . We all have an interest in a strong system of police accountability, including the police, because accountability is a solid foundation for building deeper trust between police and communities. We will all benefit from reform in our criminal justice system.”
Frigging libtards!!!
well... looks like i’m going to chick-fil-a a few times this week
I don’t eat fast food often, but I’ll be eating Chick-fil-A today and again later this week because of their beliefs.
I’ve said “kiss my buy American beliefs goodbye if Hillary is elected”, but I’ll make an exception for companies like this.
Controversy? All a business owner needs to do is ask himself, “Who would I rather have in my establishment; 30 cops or 30 BLM activists?”
Might it not be more accurate to say, that in Obamanation, Chick-fil-A's act of support for the police, might be considered a revolutionary act?
I, for am sick and tired of this “ ....could lead to violence” crap. If they want violence, let them bring it on. I am sure that there is enough of us left to give them all the violence they can stand. What the police need to do is step aside and let us handle them. In less than a week, it would all be over. We could and would give them all the violence they asked for. At least right now in my neck of the woods we could. I would hope the same holds true for other places.
No, not God help us. If we are big enough moral and physical cowards to allow the forces of evil cow us down and prevent us from wearing a t=shirt, we deserve everything they do us. Stand up to these bullies.
I’m going to buy lunch this week for my entire local PD via Chick-Fil-A.
The police really need our prayers now more than ever.
Chick-fil-A is coming to Bangor, Maine. I can hardly wait.
I have never been to one.
Now, I am going to have to go to the Chick-fil-A in Brandon.
