Cruz supporters: Did Cruz's comments change your mind on him?
vanity | March 12, 2016 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

I am a Trump supporter but I would like to know if Cruz's comments about Chicago changed the mind of any of his supporters. Is it A) no difference I still support Cruz B) I am rethinking my support for Cruz C) I am now going to support another candidate or not voting?

“Perot gave us 26 years of clinton.”

No, George H.W. Bush gave us 26 years of Clinton.

..so your willing to vote for a moderate/RINO which TRUMP is... and stay home if the true Conservative runs? What about the Supreme Court nominee?
I do NOT think TRUMP is the least bit trustworthy... but if it comes down to one or the other, I will gamble it on Trump rather than hand the nomination to Hillary.

I think Paine was one of the original socialists, before they were called that. Funny that Mark Levin has his picture up.
I cannot speak to Paine’s later work, but there is one single quote that I wished I had read when I was doing my homework as a HS senior back during the Eisenhower Administration . . .

The assignment question was, “Do we have to do what society says?” As it turned out, the assignment’s intent was socialist propaganda (tho, obviously, the teacher would not have wanted it seen as such). But he gave away the game when he said, “We like to say ‘society’ when we mean government.” To that, the reply which I wished I had was the opening paragraph plus

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one . . .

of Common Sense.
I, Pencil is an article written in 1958 by Leonard E. Read. The burden of the article is how diffuse are the inputs to make a simple item like a pencil. Of course a particular company - Eberhard Faber, in the example instance - made the pencil. But Mr. Eberhard and Mr. Faber did not simply speak the pencil into existence; the company has to have buildings housing machinery, and workers to operate the machines. But beyond that, the Eberhard Faber workers have to have food, shelter, and normal amenities - including those required by their families.

And the same is true of the vendors who supply Eberhard Faber with the machinery they require, and all the obvious materials - wood, graphite, rubber, and the ferrule material and the enamel. All those vendors have their own equipment, workers, and supply chain. And in all cases the workers need food, shelter, and normal amenities. So although the pencil certainly does not exist without Eberhard Faber, society works together to make the pencil. And pretty much everything else.

The correct word for all the support which surrounds the total production of the pencil - or anything else - is society. Not government, note well, society.

Heidi was on C-span 1 today and she said something like, “A lot of my friends tell me ‘I like Ted, but he’s so right-wing’, but I hear that less and less now.”

I guess that can be interpreted two ways. Either he’s not “right-wing” any more, or they just don’t like him.

I think they had an easy time rounding up this mob because of the perception that Trump is racist or bigoted. I don’t think a mob like this would easily form based on opposing Christianity or pro-life positions.

Cruz should be VP for eight years

Wrong. He should be MoveOn's lawyer. He just gave a great audition for the part.

So Cruz is evil for not condemning the protestors enough, but whenever Trump supporters praise MSNBC or the lamestream media or whoever else for ripping Cruz, they get a pass on that.

Seriously?!?!

Listen FRiend, people were in danger and could have been killed last night.

I know because I was one of the people in danger...I was in a car and 200 thugs surrounded me—pounded on my window and yelled obscenities at me...I did them no harm, yet they were full of hate.

They also stopped ambulances...Sheesh....easy to kibitz about the event and issue from your armchair. YOu would have a different perspective had you seen what I saw up front and personal :(

Cruz and the GOPe and media need to stop giving tacit approval to these rent-a-mob thugs....

How dare you equate the two..shame on Cruz and shame on you.

I hear Jim Bakker is still taking money, although the PTL Club is defunct. Maybe send something to him, too.

Ted Cruz is not a “true Conservative”. He’s unwise. He’s proved that all he cares about is ‘winning’. He’ll work with the GOPe and the Dems if it assists HIS personal goals.

I’m done with the GOPe and I’m done with Ted Cruz.

I’d rather this nation go to hell under a democrat than a republican. Ted = more Washington gridlock and the end of the USA.

At least with Clinton, it’ll be obvious who’s to blame.

I WAS a Cruz supporter....but now, I'm not so sure..

To look at that scum, those stinking commies that were in Chicago last night and cut them any slack at all is beyond the pale..! To do so is to fall into that same political correctness bull crap that's being used by the left to destroy our Country and our liberties....

I really don't like Trump...but to blame him for all the Fascism and communism in the world is just stupid....

The one thing Cruz does have going for him now is the fact that the story DID come from the New York Slimes....lets hope it's wrong.....

“Trump has encouraged his supporters to be violent towards protestors”

But they haven’t. They’ve been victims.

Trump has laid down a wide and manifest destruction of our talent this primary season.

What a shame if Ted did become a moveon.org lawyer. Look at Ted Olsen.

Then Trump would stand against the hordes alone.

I have kind of gone back and forth between Cruz and Trump, not thrilled with either because I have issues with each of them, but eventually voted for Cruz in the primary. So doubt was there already, but his comments yesterday just totally turned me off of him.

So, Trump didn’t cause the violence, he only created the environment that caused it.

Sorry - I do not see it reasonable to interpret the statement this way in light of the active political ambitions of BLM, etc., and the fact that Bernie Sanders supporters are publicly bragging about their roles in perpetrating the act.

IMO, Cruz essentially said that free speech does not apply unless nobody finds it offensive. That is not, and cannot be, free speech.

“I cant believe a year ago I thought he understood the constitution.”

He probably does understand the Constitution. Oh... except for those pesky natural-born citizen and free speech things.

CRUZ is anti-Constitution? Whaaa? This is a sign you need to get yourself checked for Trump-mania.

Trump’s proposals on cutting spending are simply not serious and show no chance of being effective. The analysis of the candidates’ tax plans shows that Cruz’ plan lowers the debt much more than anyone else’s.

It IS the left’s fault. Just don’t give them an excuse cuz you know the msm will twist it and turn the yutes into freedom fighters and other nonsense.
