Ted Nugent admitted that no one actually believes Donald Trump is a true conservative, but he supports the GOP presidential front-runner anyway because of his support for private gun ownership.
In a brief interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Republican rocker and avid hunter was asked why he likes Mr. Trump over other conservative candidates who are more supportive of the Second Amendment....

I am sick an tired of labels and people self proclaiming that they get to determine who is and ho isn’t a Conservative / Libertarian / Republican / Constitutionalist / etc. This narrative is old and is not playing well with most of the population any longer. I am an American - take the labels and shove them where the sun doesn’t shine.
Trump doesn’t need to fit into the pigeon hole of what this person or that person self-defines. He speaks boldly about what is right for the country, does so in an unapologetic fashion, and I believe will get things done.
Save the labels for a toe tag, that is all that they will be good for.
Shame on you. Personal attacks because someone disagrees with you politically are uncalled for. I expect more from long time Friends.
His (robotech’s) statement makes 100% sense.
If I ever made a nasty personal attack on you (which I wouldn't), you'd know it...believe me.

Nugent is confused- Cruz has actually done more for Second Amendment supporters than Trump has even thought about.
Because he isn’t. he’s a progressive populist.
He got two wrong- Miers and Roberts.
It wasn’t Ted Cruz’s fault. But the next one will be because of what he said.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, second in delegates to Trump in the GOP race, said late Friday that the billionaire has created “an environment that encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”
“When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that is escalates,” Cruz said. “Today is unlikely to be the last such incidence.”
My current fav: “May the fleas of one thousand camels infest your groin, and may your arms be too short to scratch.”

AWAY from the phony UNtrusTED!
Trump for the first time ran up against a rent-a-mob. Up till now he was been able to use protesters as foils. But now the left has raised the stakes.
“No, Stalin was.”
Well, in that case, Mao was.
Trump is the only one that does not have a Bush family member or Karl Rove involvement. He sure ain’t perfect but compared to the go along get along crowd he is far better.
I believe he’s conservative enough on the issues that I care about.
Interesting that Ted Nugent supports Donald Trump regardless of the labeling that applies. I guess Nugent is just another "low info" voter who has been "conned" by the "hucskter" Trump. Just like Ben Carson, Phyllis Schlafly, Jeff Session, Sarah Palin, and their ilk.
Looks like 2DV is employing "fire and forget" technology with respect to this article and the question you posed.
When someone posts an article, it's courteous for them to stick around and field any reasonable questions which might be posed directly to them. Your question seems reasonable enough...
Ive stopped calling myself a Conservative now too. I dont know what it means any more.
I see a lot of Conservatives behaving a certain way, and I think: Thats not what I want.
Amen, brother.
These days, "Conservative" means "free trade"..........
....which means the "freedom" for a handful of corporate doubchebags, who didn't create the company or do anything
particularly useful, ingenious, or innovative, to rape American companies by sending American middle class labor overseas.
It also means fake "tax cuts" for a smaller and smaller percentage of people that even pay taxes any more.
It also means extreme religious devotion. EXTREME religious devotion.
The Republican party of 2016 has a platform of losing positions every way you look at it.
Read the Bible more.
Then do a critical analysis of both works and book reports.
Then get back to all of us and report your findings about how we've all been tricked by Trump.
Not most of us. We consider him 'Conservative enough" and back him because he's proving to be the man for the times. As things unfold, he looks better and better and Cruz (my original first choice) seems to be taking on some worrisome stains. The "Cruz or Lose" fan club of Losers Inc. would rather Hillary than Trump and they will try to delude themselves, and others, that there would be no fundamental difference as we finish the spiral down the toilet bowl.
True enough, and I did not say you made that argument. I did. Meanwhile, may I ask whether you believe the agitated crowd was simply a spontaneous occurrence without cause?
He made an oath in church to be faithful to Ivana and he wasn’t. Then,he made another oath to be faithful to his second wife, Marla. He wasn’t.
But this time he’s totally not lying even though he has before and even though his positions change from one sentence to the next.
