A self proclaimed "internet personality" and "pastor" posted a video that said the red Starbucks holiday cups mean that they hate Jesus and Christmas and it went viral. That's the extent of the "outrage". But it's being played up as if a lot of Christians are upset because it makes Christians look like stupid petty fools. There you go. Manufactured story to make Christians look stupid. That's the short and tall of it.
Who is this "internet personality"? I think we should find out. The news is awash with this story and facebook is as well.
I think this is my first time posting. Please be gentle. But I'm outraged by the way this is playing out. Thanks.
That’s brilliant, the President of Starbucks SHOULD resign.
Feelings were hurt, lots of offended people offended beyond consultation, and he thought up and promoted a blatantly racist promotion earlier this year about Beristas writing racist comments not the Coffee cups.
I like this.
I am a Starbucks customer - I even have a GOLD Starbucks card so I am really special. :o)
I had a Starbucks Grande Latte yesterday in the red cup with the Starbucks insignia on it. It was a cup and it held coffee and I drank it and none spilled on me and no holes appeared in the cup while drinking it. After drinking it, I put said cup in the trash can and it stayed there. That is the end of my story.
You I’ll u miss the point. There are those that “christians” are upset by your response. I’m “offended” by your nonchalant and ignorant response to the subject at hand. F$@” Off Mr. “Part of the Problem”
Thx I do not do graphics
Yep. Manufactured crisis by the marketing department at Starbucks. It was very clever:
They could’ve changed the cup, and no one would’ve noticed. (The Christmas pictures on the cup were secular, anyway.)
But they wanted people to notice. So, they announced new cups with all Christmas-related graphics removed. They made a big point of it. Somebody was sure to be offended, and - voila! - now Starbucks is in the news. Free advertising.
How to enjoy a cup of Starbucks coffee:
—Buy a cup of Starbucks coffee (sadly)
—Dump it out
—Put Dunkin Donuts coffee in it
—Enjoy
:-) Some people say they've been giving the name "Merry Christmas."
I swear, in twenty years, when I'm old and finally accustomed to those weird Starbuck sizes, they'll revert to the traditional small/medium/large, just to mess with my head.
the design makes the Starbucks logo look like a Christmas wreath, so it is indeed “Christmassy” in style.
But the red and green clash badly, meaning it is ugly.
“Indeed. This is a manufactured movement.”
Just like the Confederate flag thing. Some nutcase punk has it in one internet photo, the MSM picks up on it, and it starts getting banned all over.
They find something to throw at the wall, and sometimes, like the flag issue, it sticks.
From Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals:
* RULE 5: âRidicule is manâs most potent weapon.â There is no defense. Itâs irrational. Itâs infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)
* RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.â Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

[Those goofy characters are also infuriating and cruel!]
Starbucks seems to jump the shark every few months.
Be offended all you want - “a cup is a cup by any other name”.
I am such a fine Starbucks gold card holder, they gave me a FREE bag of their “Christmas Blend Coffee Vintage 2015”. Yes, it has the word “Christmas” in the title. The wording on it says:
“Your first sip of something Wonderful.”
“As a My Starbucks Rewards member, you get a special first taste of our Vintage 2015 Christmas Blend. Layers of spicy sweetness from our rare aged Sumatra mark a Christmas years in the making.”
There you are - they are celebrating Christmas with a special coffee and calling it “Christmas Blend Vintage 2015.” Now, get offended at that. And, remember, I have a Starbucks Gold Card (and my significant other owns their stock).
On top of that, I have a hard plastic Starbucks Coffee Cup to pour their paper cup into. On top of that, I have a ceramic Starbucks coffee cup with handle on it.
My life revolves around Starbucks and all their coffee cups. I'll be seeing my psychiatrist today about my obsession with Starbucks coffee cups.
The above is all sarcasm, but keep your hands off my Starbucks coffee cups.
LOL, you post this crap to a longtime Freeper lady after asking others to "be gentle?" So you can dish it out but not take it, then.
I might also add that it took a few readings to discern exactly what you were saying. Is English your second language?
Show the lady the respect she deserves if you expect to have any shown to you.
Go to Starbucks with someone named Mary, someone named Christmas, and 3 people named Don Ho.
Then they will have to shout Mary! Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!
You alla y'all I'll we us them we'll that goup they'll y'all them the ladies those guys do not miss the point at all.
You say "This is my first time posting, so please be gentle," and then you say "F$@" Off Mr. "Part of the Problem".
Be gentle? Tell ya what. You first.
He said to me: “You I’ll u miss the point”
You said: “You alla y’all I’ll we us them we’ll that goup they’ll y’all them the ladies those guys do not miss the point at all.”
Thanks so much for your precise comment. I knew you would show up and make a no nonsense/truthful/insightful response. I love you - you may use one of my Starbucks coffee cups but you will damn sure give it back to me. :o)
You’re pretty bright for a youngidiot. It’s clickbait to feed the machine.
