The Center for Cultural Enrichment (CCE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is warning students that if your Halloween costume is funny, it's more than likely that you're exploiting oppressed people.
That message, along with other suggestions about avoiding "cultural appropriation," was posted on fliers around campus in the previous few days.
Sheets of paper were put up in different buildings at the college titled, "Does my Halloween Costume Promote Cultural Appropriation?" It asks questions about your Halloween costume, then answers how that could be oppressing people:
"Is your costume racially, ethnically, or culturally based?" the sheet asks. "If it is, then it's probably racist and may promote appropriation," it answers (emphasis theirs).
The CCE also claims that you are likely exploiting the oppressed if you wear a funny Halloween costume because, "A harsh majority of humorous or erotic costumes are of marginalized and oppressed groups of people."
Halloween, the flier concludes, is not a "day of exception" where you get to dress up like someone you're not.
The University of Wisconsin is also planning an event to warn students about cultural appropriation on October 26:
They’re been “educated” out of their sense of humor.
I have repeatedly pointed out that a liberal can suck the fun out of anything. Including sex.
They live grim, joyless lives worried that any action or thought they take might be the wrong one.
Bruce Jenner and Rachel Dolzel do it every day and are celebrated.
The world around them was built by whites. They also know the “Browns” Han nothing to do with it and nothing of value to offer it. They can’t stand it
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is oppressive. Quit letting these totalitarian thugs control your dialog and engineering your lives—according to their ever changing standards and dictates. Piss on ‘em.
And Elizabeth Warren.
This quickly led to a huge number of parody posters:
I usually pull out the pockets in my pants and walk around as an underpaid flight instructor. Can’t fault me on that.
I wuz thinking of trying the old Indian Chief in blackface with a cop badge, a hard hat, and a sailor’s uniform. Tell ‘em I’m the Village People. Never thought that group of rump rangers would represent freedom of expression, didja?
Yet more undeniable proof that leftism is mental illness.
So if somebody in Mexico dresses up as a lumberjack, I should be offended? What utter rubbish. Nobody is hurt because someone from another country/culture dresses up like someone from another country. Typical liberal bullsh*t.
On item number three, they wrote the phrase “a harsh majority of...” - what in the Sam Scratch is a “harsh majority” of something? Who wrote this, a barely literate tube worm?
The whole point of this idea of cultural sensitivity, or fear of “offending” is to condition the masses to remain silent out of fear. No one can object to anything, thus giving the Progressives ultimate power and control. Sadly, it seems to be working. Ridicule of these methods is the only way to fight back
Does this one pass muster?
Does this surprise me? Not in the least. Par for the course for that place. I saw stupidity like that on a daily basis when I went there.
I dressed as a “Terrorist” for Halloween in 2004 when I was at UW Madison. I got thrown out of a party at a Co-Op for doing so.
However, my mind was on other important things (like making sure that Hanoi John lost that election).
WINNER!!! ALOHA SNACKBAR!!!! ALOHA SNACKBAR!!!! ALOHA SNACKBAR!!!!
Considering what kind of people we are talking about here: Probably gluten-free vegan meatloaf.
Regards,
That’s excellent!
