While casting himself as Americas new constitutional savior, Trump has shown reckless disregard for fundamental private property rights. In the 1990s, he waged a notorious war on elderly homeowner Vera Coking, who owned a little home in Atlantic City that stood in the way of Trumps manifest land development. The real estate mogul was determined to expand his Trump Plaza and build a limo parking lot Cokings private property be damned. The nonprofit Institute for Justice, which successfully saved Cokings home, explained the confiscatory scheme:
Unlike most developers, Donald Trump doesnt have to negotiate with a private owner when he wants to buy a piece of property, because a governmental agency the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority or CRDA will get it for him at a fraction of the market value, even if the current owner refuses to sell. Here is how the process works.
After a developer identifies the parcels of land he wants to acquire and a city planning board approves a casino project, CRDA attempts to confiscate these properties using a process called eminent domain, which allows the government to condemn properties for public use. Increasingly, though, CRDA and other government entities exercise the power of eminent domain to take property from one private person and give it to another. At the same time, governments give less and less consideration to the necessity of taking property and also ignore the personal loss to the individuals being evicted.

Trump has never struck me as a Constitutional conservative.
He is popular right now, because he treats the media as if they are Leftist whores. But at the end of the day, Trump is all about Trump.
...should be “cues from Cruz regarding him...”
“Oh no you mean Trump isn’t perfect? Okay, NEXT one up; please keep the line moving!” I’m so sick of this shiite! I’ll say again Obama killed America Bone head and Turleman killed the Republican Party. They are both DEAD. Trump says, “I think I can revive them.” What harm can he do to a dead body?
So, on one hand I am against eminent domain. On the other hand, I am also pro-business. I realize that businesses use laws and government to get what they want. My pro-business and pro-private property rights principles occasionally conflict. Fortunately we have courts to determine what is legal and constitutional. Decisions from the courts do not always align with the principle that I value most.
Given the date of Trump's eminent domain case, the court ruled in line with my principles. However, if this case would occur today, the courts would probably rule in Trump's favor due to the Kelo decision. I have major problems with revisionist courts. It took until 2005 for the courts to revise the constitution to allow this level of fascism.
So what questions should be asked of Trump? Quite simple, "Mr. Trump, what do you think of revisionist courts?" "Mr. Trump, do you think the US Constitution is a living and changing document?" "Mr. Trump, what, if any, criteria do you have for SCOTUS nominations when it comes to property rights?"
The same questions need to be asked of all candidates.
I'm not either, anyone searching my posting history can see I haven't been "for" or "against" him, but don't make the mistake of putting this information into the same category as the stupid reality TV show crap that has come to the forefront to "discredit"'him. This is real, substantive stuff. It's an opinion about Kelo, an important topic. Of course I like what he's doing to the media, but we can't let ourselves be completely blind just because he talks back to the media, that's all I'm saying.
Ok fair enough. I think it’s also fair then to see what his answer would be today, what his thinking is on it today. We can do that, we can call for that kind of question or questions, or we can continue to blindly admire him just because he talks back to the media.
Why don't they ask Bush why he let Terri die on his watch?
No, let's get it straight. Trump showed HIS true stripes a couple of years ago when he attacked her on Twitter.
Michelle correctly pegged him as no conservative. Now, a reasonable response from Trump would have been natural and expected.
But he responded by calling her "a dummy", "born stupid", and he implied that she was covering up a shameful secret from her past. She pressed him to elaborate, but he refused.
And he didn't say a word when his fans called Michelle an Asian prostitute.
With that, Trump proved that he is a sleazebag. Malkin has set out to tell the truth about him, and I applaud her for it.
I’m not a RHINO, a Democrat or a member of the MSM. I’m a conservative. And Trump is a CINO — conservative in name only.
Well, in late July Trump admitted on "Morning Joe" that some of his positions are those of a Democrat. Is it any wonder conservatives don't want any part of that?
Of course, I meant to write RINO.
I've seen outrageous non-conservative positions, thoughts and ideas from some of the others in that slate. But I don't see them bandied about every day like some of this Trump hunting.
We know why this is being done, Jeb Bush as the GOPe candidate and the MSM are behind it, probably aided by some of the lesser rans, and probably some of the supporters of candidates who aren't doing well, too.
What I DON'T SEE is these people engaged at taking down the leader saying anything about Hillary Clinton's emails, server with Top Secret information, Benghazi, her aides, Huma Abedin and that other aide not turning over emails ad nauseum..... I've said my piece, more than what I want to as a Cruz supporter. Trump is entertainment for me and misery for people (candidates, etc.) I don't like and I guess that's why I've said this much.
Trump keeps calling himself a “conservative” or an “extreme conservative.” He’s NOT. That makes him a typical liar politician who will say anything to get elected.
This story (really from 2011, based on his AC dealings and his opinion on Kelo in 2005) has legs because he's running for president. It's literally, substantively different than "reality TV" tripe precisely because of the topic (eminent domain). That's not the same (bush) league as questions about what he calls women. And speaking about Bush:
Bush why he let Terri die on his watch?
A valid question absolutely. It made me fume when he (Bush) had the temerity to say during the debate "...my pro life record as governor speaks for itself..." (paraphrased). You'll get no argument from me that Bush is being given the kid gloves treatment by the media. For now.
Fair enough thank you for your civil reply.
And I’ll just go back to your original first post to me. So what?
I’ll also add that you left out the rest of that sentence you’re playing “gotcha” with me on.
It read “......AND those running along with him who cannot stand on their own, cant rise in the polls on their own, etc. without trashing him.”
A convenient omission.
Yes. And Erick Erickson at the Red State Gathering introduced Senor Jeb as “the most conservative governor blah blah blah...”
If mere self proclamation would suffice, I’d be Emperor Supreme For Life of all that can be seen. :0)
I’m glad you’re for Cruz, as he is far and away the most solid Constitutional conservative in the race-—and he has been all along.
But it is disturbing to hear you say that Trump’s admission of being a Democrat doesn’t faze you in the least. When I hear that from a conservative, it astounds me.
