GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson reportedly slammed lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates at a Jan. 24 press conference following his speech at Congressman Steve King's Iowa Freedom Summit.
Carson, a Fox News commentator and former Johns Hopkins University pediatric neurosurgeon, seemed to hint at a series of disputes that have erupted between same-sex couples hoping to tie the knot and bakeries and other wedding-related venues operated by opponents of same-sex marriage.
"What I have a problem with is when people try to force people to act against their beliefs because they say, 'They’re discriminating against me,’" he told reporters, according to The Hill. "So they can go right down the street and buy a cake, but no, let’s bring a suit against this person because I want them to make my cake even though they don’t believe in it."
He then added, "[That] is really not all that smart because they might put poison in that cake.”(continued)

Haven’t finished reading all remarks, but I like yours the best, because Huff Poor is totally publishing pure homosexual agenda claptrap. What he said was obviously a joke, but, since he’s against homosexual mirage, they took advantage of his joke to try and implicate him in some way.

Yep. I prefer to say it’s not smart to piss off the people who handle your food, and leave it at that.
I’m not too hot with poisoning the cake...but making it less than tasty, by screwing up the ingredients a bit could make those weddings “quite memorable”.
At one point I thought Carson was presidential material, but it appears not. This remark was just throwing meat to the wolves.
Much ado about a poorly stated analogy - might as well just said you don’t act the ass with a waitress if you expect a spit-free meal...
I’d just make a “not good” cake...not quite enough sugar, a touch too much salt, maybe a little Rosemary sprinkled in. Sort of like concealed carry, say nothing, show nothing and make your point ...quietly and effectively. Can they be sued because it didn’t taste good? I could sue half the restaurants I frequent. Ever try rare chicken livers?

Regarding the “difference” between original and corrected statements, use of the corrected one opens the door, by provoking an outraged Lib response, to raising the issue of Liberals who have admitted to spitting in food and similar things. Jesse Jackson, as mentioned earlier, but also that Lib journalist (David Korn?) who admitted to being sick with the flu and licking the doornobs at Gary Bauers campaign HQ (2000 was it?)
It still doesn’t change the higher level problem wit Carsons comment (indicating that Christian Conservatives would stoop to the tactics of Jackson and other Libs), but it at least presents a viable political exit route.
I would think, as a Christian, there are only two viable options here. One, accept the law (render unto Caesar) and bake the cake to normal standards, or refuse to bake the cake and accept the civil consequences.
Thats why my point has been to find a solution to make the problem go away. Put up a sign that says that the proceeds from the sale of gay wedding cakes will be donated to a charity organization that offers gay conversion therapy.
That’ll end the issue right there.
Carson is wrong on a major point too.
He says that they want to make him bake a cake “even though” he doesn’t believe in it.
In reality they want him to bake a cake BECAUSE he doesn’t believe in it.
It’s just a bullying tactic to force opponants into silence and drive opposition from the public square.
A Muslim bakery probably would have the special Semtex filling.....
