Assassination of 2 NY policemen has the left scrambling

New York City Patrolmen Rafael Ramos and Wenjin Liu are dead at the hands of an assassin who executed them as they sat in their patrol car eating lunch, working an overtime shift.

“They were, quite simply, assassinated,” a shaken NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said Saturday night.

The shooter — identified as Ismaaiyl Brinsley — boasted about wanting to murder cops in the hours before he ambushed the officers outside the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 2:45 p.m.

“I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours ... let’s take 2 of theirs,” Brinsley, 28, wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of a silver handgun.

He also included three hashtags: ShootThePolice, RIPErivGarner (sic) and RIPMikeBrown.

“This may be my final post ... I’m putting pigs in a blanket.”

We’ll be told that unless gun control legislation is passed now, it is an insult to the memory of these 2 officers.

That was my first thought, but then it occurred to me that this is the kind of incident that throws the arguments of gun control advocates right out the window. Just think about it:

1. The victims were two armed police officers.

2. The perp was a convicted felon and violated some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation during the course of the day yesterday.

The natural response of any rational people living in New York City right now is to arm themselves to the teeth. Like right now.

But don’t you see, stoking the flames is EXACTLY what Obama, Holder, Sharpton & Company MUST do to gin up the anti-gun hysteria. See, just see, the cops had guns, and THAT didn’t prevent them from being assassinated, so why would anybody think that if private gun carry was prevalent among civilians, that would make anything at all better?

Gun control did nothing at all to wrest the weapon out of the hand of Ismaayil Brinsley, and the alert sent out in his wake ironically arrived only a couple of minutes before the act of assassination.

The elephant in the room is that the shooter was a black and the policemen were not. The Police officers were of Asian and Latino decent. The Asians and Latinos that side with Obama and his ilk have a rude awakening if this becomes worse. They will be lumped in with the whites because blacks are more racist than any other ethnic group.
