Someone Is Lying: North Korea Almost Certainly Did Not Hack Sony
Zero Hedge ^ | 12/18/2014 | Tyler Durden

Yesterday, moments before the North Korea "hacking" tragicomedy escalated into full retard mode with Sony pulling The Interview, or a movie that absent the attention would certainly be a flop, Wired released an article titled: "North Korea Almost Certainly Did Not Hack Sony" (title subsequently changed to the one below as can be seen in the URL alias "http://www.wired.com/2014/12/north-korea-did-not-hack-sony-probs"), which however, and for the better, retains its content as it is quite critical in debunking the latest government "certainty."

These are movie people. They lie all the time.

Even in private communications with each other.

The hackers used computer-generated special effects to simulate these communications.

St. Michael had his hands up. We all know that.

Regardless of who did the hacking, the end result is that the USA comes across once again as wimps.

A former high-end hacker was on the CBS news show this AM, and he had some reasons that sounded valid why it probably wasn't North Korea. One was the difficulty of downloading the vast amount of information that was hacked. He made the point that hackers write code in another language very often to direct blame where they want it to be.

This whole thing is amazing. It's like a real life MOUSE THAT ROARED. This would not have happened if it were good satire, with facetious names for the country and leader.

I don’t believe it was North Korea. These hackers WAAY too celebrity savvy to be someone from that stone age country.

There is no such thing as North Korea

There is a country that is a puppet of Peking that wouldn’t last a day without China,

Do you actually think North Korea gets their internet access from where?….CHINA

The CHINESE did this for economic advantage. Watch a Chinese company swoop in to save the day and purchase controlling stock in SONY to help save the flagship business…..POOF they’re heroes!

The North Koreans can’t grow rice much less pull off a coup like this.

I can understand the will, but do the Norks really have the resources to do that? You mean to tell me they can afford the massive computing power needed to hack Sony?

If Sony is behind this, then they are as good as finished as a company.

They wont be able to keep this under wraps. Someone will break.

Well, why would anyone want to hack Sony and make threats to get them to not release this particular film, if it were not the North Koreans?

It might have been the Chinese, doing a favor for the Norks, but nothing else seems to make any sense.

If we believed the White House, a mere YouTube video led to the attack on our Embassy in Benghazi, but a full-on theatrical movie premiere only led to a cyberattack?

Sony isn’t behind this. They wouldn’t have made terroristic threats to the public and theaters.

My nominee for the honor? Iran.

Part of the “Axis of Evil” defined by George W. Bush, the already far too close ties between the two oligarchies of fanatics provides both the Iranians with cover, and the North Koreans with semi-plausible deniability. Not that both of them do not have a beef already with the regime now in control of that territory once known as “the United States of America”, it is just that Iran really is testing the waters in introducing their own sweeping attacks and demands.

There may also be some clandestine help being provided by persons who turn out to have US citizenship, almost certainly naturalized very recently.

Oh please. It is common knowledge in the IT world that Sony is easy pickings. They have been hit on the gaming side more than once.

What about somebody ( other than a Korean ) who can speak Korean?
= = = = = = = = =
Can’t you sometimes spot it though by the way the sentence is worded?
Good example is of the emails one gets from supposed American GI’s that have found 400zillion in gold they want to give to YOU (and anyone else who maybe in their ‘BCC list’).. “I American Soldier Capt John Smith American Army posted in Iraq etc etc etc”.....that is when you say - where is that delete button...(actually when the Headline reads “I want to give you 400zillion or even 50 bucks”- time to move on.....

I have had ‘people’ tell me they were American born, schooled, as their parents were and start spelling with a u where we don’t put them - armour, labour etc etc and using the term ‘flat’, ‘hostel’ (in a casual way - not trying to show how ‘worldly’ they are).
I told one of them that if they are going to try and stick to that story (American all the way) better throw in they went ‘abroad’ to school or backpacked through Europe for 5 or 6 years...
Then again, why would someone want to hide the fact they are ‘English’??????

I wouldn't put this kind of cheap stunt past our own State Department, NSA, and administration run by our Douchebag in Chief. After all, they blamed the terrorist attack in Benghazi on a YouTube video.

North Korea has the resources and the will to do this.

So does the NSA and a host of anti net neutrality, DRM types who can use this to get their employees in Congress to further screw the Muppets. Already saw some clown of indeterminate gender, who was a former FCC head now cable industry flack, on CNBC bubblevision agitating for more government control of the web.
