Oh, those dastardly illegals. They come into our country, they live off our social safety net, they take our jobs, and they cause all kinds of grief.
That's a fair description of many conversations in recent months regarding illegal immigrants. The message is clear: “It is unethical to take and take when you haven't earned the right.”
That gets us to the Freep-a-thon. Statistics found easily on the internet prove that only 5% of Freepers support the other 95%. Count the number of unique hits Free Republic receives. Count the number of actual donors...and voila...you will discover that only 5% are supporting Free Republic.
You'd think 95% of Freepers would be defending the right of illegals to take and take and take and take — and never give.
After all, they could be charged with the same thing.
Make no mistake, it is understood that there are those just recovering from tragedy, unemployment, a family crisis, the loss of income, and other problems that DO crop up in life from time to time. But NOT 95% of Freepers. It would be hard to argue such a thing.
It would be easy, on the other hand, to argue that Free Republic offers a real voice to the average conservative. It has the best cyber-conversation software anyplace. It is a conservative forum that does not apologize for being conservative. We aren't beset with ANY ads, memory devouring pop-ups or auto-runs because we're self funded. We aren't continually harassed by liberal trolls on someone’s payroll to disrupt conservative conversations. We are able to talk about God, family, wholesome morality, natural marriage, natural sexuality, and truthful politicians without being assaulted by mindless, liberal moderators taking away our ability to even be present.
You have a voice at Free Republic.
My only question: “Do you have a twinge of guilt over being compared to an illegal?”
If so, then donate today to the Freep-a-thon. Put us over the top this Thanksgiving week! Donate what you can: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 500. Just about everybody can afford something.

That’s how I figure it too. I even cancelled Netflix and gave it to JR. I never liked it anyway (although I gotta admit I do miss the remastered versions of the original Trek).
FR is still worth more.
i’m half german and agree with him!!
You qualify!
Because he turned more RINO? I don't know, but I do thank him for introducing me to FR all those many years ago.
Many of us donate to FreeRepublic in non-monetary ways.
FreeRepublic is listed on Drudge. Left side.
Long time ago
I remember when he took it down. I’m not sure when he put it back, but it’s back.
It was back in my early years on FR...I’d say in the 2000-2003 time frame.

dear noinfringer,
Before you went off on your (ahem) rant, did you bother to look in your copy of the Collegiate Webster’s dictionary, as to the definition of ‘nativist’?
dear xzins,
As you said:
“The article says that those who use Free Republic and dont donate are no different than illegals who take what isnt rightfully theirs.”
Since when is it YOUR business, to label anyone as you had. YOUR statement reads as well as the Sunday preacher bellowing about tithing, and quoting the book, browbeating those who don’t have the money to give what they don’t got!
If you mean “crazy uncle,” probably.
Read the 6th paragraph down
No longer worth dying for.
Something to remember.
I sense some sarcastic criticism in your response to my previous comments about discriminating between the terms ‘America’ and ‘The United States’. You made a FR comment something to the extent that ‘Nativist’ means America for Americans-first....’. My point was and I will hold to such was that ‘America’ or if preferred ‘American’ is not exclusive to the USA and this is what in todays world is being used by many persons to justify the overflow of migrants to the USA. You can believe that you are uniquely an ‘American’ but I will argue there are other ‘Americas’ by maps, by dictionary /encyclopedias, etc. references and as such other ‘Americans’. By the way I have and use “Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Languish” which I believe is much more inclusive than the ‘Collegiate Webster’s Dictionary you cited. Furthermore, my copy of the Constitution is specific in that it is for the United States of America.
Thank you! :)
You are welcome, Trisham.
pI ray you’re having a blessed Lord’s Day!
An you as well, my friend. :)
