I don't know about this. It may be gone in two seconds. I've never seen any post on this subject. This item offers lots of great features to have in preparing for a possible future.Thought some FReepers might find the information useful, practical.

On my nightstand is a full size 1911 loaded with 230 gr hollow points. Leaning against the wall is a Mossberg 12 pump loaded with alternating slugs and #1 buck. On wife's side of the bed is my AR-15 loaded with NATO green tips. (my AR ... hey, how did that happen?) We have 850 and backup 150 lumen lights...

I'm sure if given the chance we could find some room on one of our nightstands for the M&P though! :-)

The CORE Is milled for a MRD sight. A standard M&P with a decent light is a suitable choice. Save the money for AMMO and training.

Of all the expensive AR-15s, long rifles, carbines, and all the expensive pistols.... if given the choice... if I was confronting someone in my house, I would always go with my $350 12ga with AA buck.

I have shot the M&P series 9 mm at the range. It performed very well. In my opinion the SW 99 was a complete disaster. Very cheap and one of the worst triggers I’ve ever seen on a firearm. I own an M&P AR 15 but not the handgun. I’ve owned a Glock 21 since 1996 and I’m just very comfortable and familiar with it.

A CORE in .40 with a Trijicon RMR03 is my current nightstand gun. I’ve done a little work on it like an Apex trigger, and night sights for a low co-witness with the RMR, etc.

Half Husky half pit-bull, Rossi .357 magnum with 125 grain SJHP, and Mossberg 500 12-gauge with 00-buck.

I probably would've gone with #2 if I could have found it. #4 was a bit too small, #0 or #00 too few pellets. I believe #1 or #2 is a good compromise: big enough to have mass in each pellet for penetration, small enough to have enough pellets to spread out and do a lot of situation-ending damage.

I used to have all #1 buck in the 12 ga. Then I got to thinking, my dog (75 lb lab) is big on bark, not so big on actually getting physical. If someone gets into the house the dog is going to be in their face barking like crazy but she'll probably stay out of reach. She will buy me the few seconds I need though. ;-) Ultimately I would probably end up shooting past her at the intruder. Not knowing how much separation I can count on I figure a slug is less likely to wing her than a stray pellet. Though pellets are only supposed to expand about 1" per yard of travel I should be looking at a pretty tight group. (confirmed with large paper targets at the range) I figure a slug hit anywhere on the torso should stop a threat long enough for me to step up for a better angle (past the dog) and a followup buckshot center mass or head...threat removed.

I have shot the M&P series 9...

Wife has an M&P 9C she keeps in her truck. Very nice, I highly recommend them to anyone. Wife had never shot a handgun before this one. She is a natural with it. I would describe myself as an average marksman with tendencies to get lazy and fall back into bad habits. Even I can shoot it better than average with very little effort. (which is why I then bought a Glock...go figure) Glocks may get a lot of press, but the M&Ps just seem to quietly work and work well. They are (as demonstrated by the 5 or 6 people I've seen shoot the M&P) very easy to shoot well.

Was carrying a 9c (which I left on my nightstand at night), but wanted something smaller I could slip in my pocket, so got a bodyguard .380. Now I carry it all the time. Only problem is it is prone to jam.

I leave safety off my bodyguard. It’s got a 9 lb trigger pull.

I think the M&P will have a much more natural feel for anyone that started shooting handguns before a particular Austrian handgun with it’s odd grip angle started to dominate the market.
