I think the M&P will have a much more natural feel for anyone that started shooting handguns before a particular Austrian handgun with it’s odd grip angle started to dominate the market.

I can't disagree. Though I'd never admit to the wife (who does not read FR) that I might have jumped on a bandwagon with the G19 and that a M&P9 (not the C compact) might have been a better choice. Part of my thinking at the time was I wanted more than the 12 round capacity of the 9C (I know, common 9mm brainwashing, more is better), but didn't want the size (grip length) of the full size M&P9 (17 rounds). The Glock G19 (15+1) seemed a good compromise and hey, it's a Glock...

Well, I've since adapted to different clothing and holsters and demonstrated to myself that I can conceal even a full sized 1911. (broad shoulders, narrower waist means shirts naturally hang loose) I've also gotten over my fear of performance issues - running out of bullets. So next time around - in a year or two - I'll be more open to a broader range of options regarding size, caliber, and magazine capacity. We live, we learn, we grow...
