After polling 190,000 conservatives, Contract From America found that Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is the favored GOP presidential pick for 2016, as The Daily Caller reports.

While Paul leads the pack, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio are two other popular choices for 2016. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are running last in a pool of 32 candidates.

And American cannot have Scott Walker yet! He has too much to do in our state as it is!

Good. Now let’s hope he A) doesn’t say anything stupid between now and then. B) that the RINO’s, CINO’s, and Socialists in either Party have a hard time making their lies stick.

I don’t really see Rand Paul being the conservative pick. He’s not crazy much like his dad, but he still has some pretty libertarian and non-conservative views.

He’s just a “darling” today because he attacked Obama about drones killing Americans. Tomorrow, he’ll do something “wrong”, and everybody will be calling him a RINO and saying he is finished and trying to gin up a tea party candidate to attack him.

IN fact, I’m surprised he’s still the darling since he said McConnell is a good conservative who deserves to be re-elected. Because McConnell is currently “out” with the “conservatives”, because having a 100% ACU rating doesn’t really mean anything when you don’t somehow kill enough democrat senators so you have a majority and can pass legislation.

Its what he did not say that angers me.

THE MAN SPOKE FOR 13 HOURS AND NEVER MENTIONED THAT BRENNAN SUPPORTED JIHAD AND CALLED IT A LEGITIMATE TENET OF ISLAM.

Paul is politically correct when it comes to Islam. Instead of standing up against the evils of terrorist, he votes for people like Brennan AND Hagel who also sides with the terrorist.

If Paul can't stand up to the truth of Islamic extremist in this country, and the administration, he should not be president. It is the most serious issue our nation is facing and many are ignoring it.

I like what Rand Paul (and Ted Cruz) has to say lately but it really just proves that the GOP needs to do much better than they’re doing now.

RE :”Oh, for Pete’s Sake! Three more YEARS of this ‘Flavor of the Minute’ crap from the media. Blech!”

I dont see how a US R-minority party Senator comes close to matching Scott Walker as a pick, no matter how much noise they are making.
Walker is a real re-elected governor who actually accomplished things, actually beating Dems. They other two dont come close. Palin didnt come close, nor did Romney, to what Walker has accomplished.

If Paul is on board with the Libertarian Party's lassaize-faire attitude and platform on illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, uncontrolled borders, drugs, et al, then he can suck it in my book. I'll just stay home

The libertarian ideals aren’t what will hurt him. What will hurt him are the libertarian voters who immediately declare themselves to be a vast majority and then set out to destroy everyone else only to finish with low single digit votes.

Would you rather have (choose one):
a. Jeb Bush
b. Chris Christie
c. Rand Paul

??

“I’m for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker...”

Me too.

The bravest and most courageous conservative of them all.
No one else comes close.
No one.

Yeah... I know. He didn’t mention the space program or the fact that Fox still won’t bring back Firefly as a series.

Makes him completely unsuitable as a candidate.

Sorry lady, we're stealing him. He's the best candidate I've seen in all the musings about 2016.

I can't wait for the arguments we're going to have on FR about him being a RINO.........

:-)

Before saying Palin did not have an outstanding record as governor of Alaska you might want to read this

Sarahs' record is very bit as impressive as Walker.

I don’t care who they pick other than keeping out a RINO, though you are correct governors used to be considered better picks. However, we got Obama and he is a zero senator from a dem state.
