The latest tactic being employed against gun owners is to dehumanize them; to portray them as something less than a full-fledged member of society. Some have even called for the deaths of gun owners and advocates.
The most recent bigot to jump on the bandwagon is comedian Jim Carrey who tweeted that “Any[one] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting.”
Let’s look at how many Americans he just insulted. Extrapolating from already released ATF data, the number of new guns purchased since the Newtown tragedy is somewhere around 4 million. That’s right Jim … 4 million ‘soulless’ American’s who have the audacity to exercise their fundamental rights.
But you go ahead and denigrate them because it will make you popular amongst certain circles. I just hope you weren’t looking for those 4 million people to go see your next dreadful movie. For that matter, the other 100 million plus people who are already gun owners probably won’t go see it either.

However, Carrey isn’t the only one to embrace this tactic. Fellow comedian Dave Foley tweeted “If your 1st response to the shooting of dozens of children was to rush out in a 2nd amendment frenzy to buy guns, you are a loathsome human.”

Liberal commentator Bob Beckel went even further, saying that NRA members are “thugs” and that being a member of the NRA is like “supporting Hitler.”
And then we get to the truly disturbing comments.

Bestselling author Joyce Carol Oates tweeted that the Newtown tragedy was “NRA-sponsored.” She went on to say that politicians who support gun rights are guilty of “Felony homicide.”
But wait, there’s more.
She then states that “If sizable numbers of NRA members become gun-victims themselves, [there] may be hope for legislation of firearms.” And when questioned about this comment, she assures her followers that “I meant this seriously– not ironically.”

Academics are getting in on the calls for violence as well. Erik Loomis who is the Assistant Professor of American history at the University of Rhode Island tweeted that “[T]he National Rifle Association has murdered some more children.” and “I want Wayne LaPierre’s head on a stick.”
He also said that paying your “NRA membership dues [is] contributing to a terrorist organization?”
There has even been a video game released by anti-gun advocates which allows players to shoot NRA President David Keene.
I could continue giving example after example but clearly the fact that average American citizens are concerned about the future of liberty and are reacting by buying guns and ammo in record numbers is unsettling those who live in cultural isolation.
And they are reacting the way that bigots have always reacted … by declaring those they despise to be something less than human. Do those tactics sound familiar?

This began back in 1963. Nov 22 to be exact.
By 1968 most of the MSM were publishing anti-gun articles every few weeks. They have never stopped.
I remember two cartoons from that era of 1968.
One shows an overweight man hugging his shotguns hiding in the basement. The wife says ...”For heaven’s sake, John! They don’t want to take your guns away, they only want to register them!”
The other shows an overweight man cleaning and loading his double barrel shotgun during a riot. The wife says....”Why don’t we just put a SOUL BROTHER sign in the window instead?”
Meanwhile, Herblock, of the WAPO was churning out anti-NRA cartoons like butter.
Thanks for that! That is exactly what tactic is being employed.

Hollywood appears to poison the mind of everyone there.
Of course not. I am sure that he will tell you that HIS life IS worth defending. It is only the lives of the unwashed masses that can be sacrificed.

Herblock was the most hateful b@stard ever to pen a cartoon. He compared gun owners to Bonnie & Clyde. And registering guns was the prevailing panacea.
The `soul brother’ cartoon appeared in the New Yorker magazine.
Then as now, gun owners are depicted as overweight middleaged unenlightened white men, but nowadays that’s supposed to be a dying minority.
And yes, I did do some 2nd Amendment buying following the Newtown horror, after I prayed for the souls of those poor kids.
I have long considered starting a Hollywood Hates America tour, just for the fun of it. Think it would sell tickets??

I'd boycott Carey; but then, I've never seen even one of his films; and don't intend to start. His stuff is so lowbrow it makes The Three Stooges look like sophisticated drawing room comedy.
Jim Carrey has no talent. He can only make bathroom humor “jokes” and ridiculous faces. He should get a job cleaning toilets.
Herblock was bad, but here in Atlanta, I have often cringed at the editorial cartoons by Joel Pett. He is clearly on board with the worst of the NRA-demonizers.

Andrew Cuomo and Elizabeth Warren will be running on the 2016 Democrat Presidential ticket. With record sales in other markets, there will be zero impact if all NY sales terminated tomorrow. If the NY State Government along with the SAFE act are not reigned in, this cancer will only spread. Time to fight the bully and make the bully understand in no uncertain terms, the 2nd Amendment is very important, has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with citizens/sovereigns reigning in and eliminating out of control Government, foreign or Domestic.

Call every manufacturer of ammunition and firearms and tell them to stand up to Andrew Cuomo and the NY State Government by completely boycotting all sales to NY State till the SAFE Act, Assault weapons ban and any other restrictions to firearms ownership are removed. Respect the 2nd Amendment or pay the consequences. Boycott NY State or we as consumers will boycott your company!
Federal Ammunition, Winchester/OLIN, FN USA, FN Herstal, Remington, Freedom Firearms Group, Colt, S&W, Glock, Lewis Machine Tool, Heckler & Koch, Sig-Sauer… etc.
Call the NRA and every other gun rights organization to support the industry boycott of NY State and make sure that Andrew Cuomo owns it!

(just a small observation: As read, the citizens of NY State should be fully armed “the duty of every man” , not the NY State Government or any Employee that takes a pay check from TAX REVENUE. Right now, it is completely backwards! NY State should be more like Switzerland of 2012 and less like Nazi Germany of 1938.)

US Constitution 2nd Amendment, which by the way is now in been affirmed as incorporated and defined to protect the individual’s right to own firearms, via the Heller decision
If a citizen and Militia member in NY cannot own it, can neither a NY State Government Agency nor
Employee. That is common sense and that is the current Constitution!
Make Mr. Cuomo recognize that fact. See the rules below and start making Andy Cuomo’s political life painful or we will be dealing with him and his venal ilk in 2016!
