I would like to enlist the services of the Prayer Warriors for the grandson of a little girl who lived in my neighborhood when I was growing up. She's obviously not so little now, but is in need of your prayers.
Keegan James Dondlinger was born yesterday, November 23, 2012, but was due March 4, 2013, three days after my own grandson is due. He weighed 1.85 lbs, but he looks very well developed for being so young and so little.
He's been able to open his eyes, and to grasp his mother's finger.
Not much new to report he is 4lbs 4oz and his head is 34cm up just half a cm from two days ago. He currently is enjoying some kangaroo cuddles with mom, after a slight scare getting there. Dont know about the future but life in the present is good<\b>
On the air?
Well he is doing about the same. Tho the neonatologist did come in to talk to us this morning. We were told that despite the results not being back (2wks - 2 months) all the signs are pointing to Walker Warburg syndrome and that we should start thinking how much "treatment" to put him through before allowing nature to take its course. And the results of the genetic test are more to learn if it was a freak accident in his genetics or whether he got a gene from us. On the plus side if there can be a plus side, after he receives all the treatment that we want him to it is possible to have Keegan sent back to lincoln
Was just "chatting" with Grandma Iris, who seems to be holding up pretty well. Her daughter, (Keegan is one of her sons' child) lost a baby at 22 weeks gestation, who lived only 20 minutes. She also lost her Mother, and Mother-in-Law over the last 2-3 years. Tough, very tough.
Iris thanks you all again for your prayers. And I ask that you keep them coming, and include his family as well.
El Gato...I'm sorry. I'm praying for healing first off, then the wisdom of all involved to make the right decisions for this precious child.
Oh my. Prayers continue here for this lil one and his family and their friends.
I am so sorry. May God comfort and guide the parents and family in whatever decisions they have to make.
I join in urgent prayer for this baby and family as they deal with this troubling news.
I passed on "amom" and "azishot"'s sentiments while I was chatting with her.
Thank you for passing our prayers and thoughts along to Grandma Iris El Gato.
Lord I pray for the most innocent of your children. Give this child the strength in his lungs so that his heart can receive the lifeblood he needs to survive, and I ultimately pray for the parents to have strength in their time of need. Be with them all in Jesus precious name,, Amen
El Gato, I am so very, very sorry. I know this isn’t the diagnosis that anyone wanted. I am going to refrain from giving any sort of advice simply because I haven’t been in this position and don’t know what to say. All I can do is pray and pray HARD. Whatever the decision your family makes will be made out of love and with God’s great guidance. That isn’t glib... In my own life if I don’t know what to do or if I am faced with something so overwhelming, I ask God to guide me to do what is best and for Him. I rely on him because I couldn’t rely on my own knowledge or experience. God Bless and hugs, Mom
Thanks “Mom”. But it’s not my family. The grandmother was a little girl in my neighborhood when I was a kid. She’s about 8 years younger than I am, but has more grandkids. As I mentioned above, she’s already lost one that was born very premature and died 20 minutes later. That was her daughter’s daughter, Keegan is the son of her son.
The area we lived in is called Havelock, once it was an independent town, mostly industrial/bluecollar. We Havelockers try to stick together, no matter how far we’ve roamed.
I can’t imagine having to make those decisions. I am somewhat on eggshels, since my own grandson is due about the same time as Keegan was, and will probably have the same middle name.
Not sure I am posting this right, this is my first time posting on here. I am Keegan’s Grandma and I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for him. He is still fighting. His parents have a meeting tomorrow morning with his whole team to decide what they are or aren’t going to do. Prayers for wisdom for everyone involved are appreciated.
You did fine Iris.
Please let us know how it goes on Wednesday.
