I talked with Yellow Rose of Texas a couple of weeks ago. Since that time she was moved to another room which had no phone. At the time she sounded well. We had a nice lengthy chat. She was thrilled to know we were thinking and praying for her on this thread and said to thank you all. She was going to have her daughter print this thread out so she could read it at her leisure. I hope we brought her some comfort. The family informed me today that our dear Yellow Rose passed away yesterday.
Prayers for her daughter and family and friends left behind.
My heart is heavy. I don’t know what else to say.

Just oh wow. I’m so very sorry to hear of this, amom. Thank you for letting us know.
She is such a very special person. I have missed her so much, and now to learn that she has passed. Prayers are up for her and her whole family.

We are all the poorer without her with us.
I checked on another old friend this evening and found that she had passed away when I was out of town earlier this year. She was a true gem and she and her husband were my constant companions back thirty years ago.
Rose was a true one-of-a-kind. She was tireless in rallying the troops.
I will truly miss her.

I will always fondly remember Yellow Rose of Texas and the fun we shared during the Chinagate Project. I wrote a little something years ago when another dear friend passed away. I think it is fitting for Yellow Rose of Texas as well.
Tears flow.
Guided by wrinkles
on a weary face.
One after another,
they tickle as
they descend.
Odd, this thought,
that the pain expressed
from a heart torn asunder.
Becomes instead
a tickle of Delight
from a Soul set free.

She's the sweetest little rosebud
That Texas ever knew
Her eyes are bright as diamonds
They sparkle like the dew
You may talk about your Clementine
And sing of Rosalee
But the Yellow Rose of Texas
Is the only girl for me
Heavy-heart condolences for the family and friends of a wonderful long-time freeper. I always looked for her posts....and relished them all.

I’m just now hearing about Yellow Rose—and I’m so sorry to learn of her passing. I had lost contact with her through the years, but we had some great times together in the past.
May she rest in eternal peace. She was a great lady!

I am so sorry. I feel that if Yellow Rose was going to read this thread then she is going to read this thread... albeit she is in Heaven. So, here goes. Yellow Rose, thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for being the type of freeper that I could pm a question or concern. Thank you for dealing with life with such grace and beauty and urging me to do the same. Thank you for being the Yellow Rose of Texas. I selfishly will miss you but I know that you are in a better place. May Our Lord comfort your family. Hugs, Mom

thanks for caring and sharing...
We have lost so many people of late but such is the cycle of life and death and we can always rejoice in those that departed to God’s arms.
Miss them? Yes but of course.
God bless her family & give them peace.
